isolinux from floppy
Hi, Is it possible to somehow mix syslinux and isolinux so that I boot from a floppy disk and then load the kernel+initrd from a CD? Reading the docs it seems to me that syslinux and isolinux are quite independent tools, they work differently, the installation method is different etc... so I'm afraid I'll get a negative answer... but I hope I won't :-) Thx, Egmont

credentials check failed - Samba 3.0.21
I'm getting some strange entries in my logs after upgrading to samba version 3.0.21-1. Also in 3.0.21a-1. The machines connection to my samba pdc are WinXP SP2 and also a 2003 server. For example: [2006/01/03 21:57:28, 0] libsmb/credentials.c:creds_server_check(159) creds_server_check: credentials check failed. Samba groups
Hi there, I have a Redhat 9 server setup as an PDC with samba 2.2.7. Is it possible to temporarily disable a group of users to login to the PDC or can it only be done on a per username basis ? Loooooong logon-times using samba 3.5.6 and Windows 7
Dear samba-users We are experiencing some rather long logon times using SAMBA 3.5.6 on Debian Squeeze + Windows 7 and while trying to find out why we raised the loglevel to 5 resulting in a rather large logfile. But this did give us a hint as to why we experience so long logon times. It seems that samba is going through the whole user-database with all usernames and machine-accounts. Eventually

compare-dest when DEST contains path component
Hi, I just noticed that the value of the '--compare-dest' argument is simply prepended to the DEST argument, even if that has path compnents. For example with this command: rsync -a --compare-dest=$comparedest \ remote::something/1/ \ /local/path/to/1/ if the remote 'something' module has a file called '1/2/3/4/file' (which is going to be mirrored to

Sharing levels across multiple factor vectors
Hi, I've got a data frame with multiple factor columns, but they should share the same set of labels, such as this tiny example: df <- data.frame ( a = factor( c( "bob", "alice", "bob" ) ), b = factor( c( "kenny", "alice", "alice" ) ) ); In my data, though, the strings are enormous. I would like to replace them with integers,

force group broken in 3.0.14?
I've got some problems with file access control on a linux-server with samba 3.0.14a compiled from a src-rpm. This is the method I've been using for the past 5-6 releases. It's a redhat 8.0 machine and the kernel version is 2.4.30. The problems seem to have appeared since upgrading from 3.0.13. Symptom 1: When using force group on a share, users from the two groups edb and
