Problem Seeing Linux Machine From Windows Machine
I am very new to Samba, so please excuse this naive question.
Samba seems to be working properly from my Red Hat 7.2 system. I am
using a GUI called xSMBrowser, and am able to transfer files back and
forth to the Windows machines on my network.
I now want to access my Linux system from a Windows 98 machine. I can see
it ('Mail') in 'My Network Places' within the workgroup

From the ctdb/doc/ctdb.1.xml man page file:

setlmasterrole in config
How can setlmasterrole be set persistently? Is there a way to put it in
some config file?
If not, if setting it from the command line is the only option, what is the
recommended approach to ensure it is set upon reboot?
Thx

Formatting runner output as HTML
I found documentation on Runner & calling Spec on the command line. I''m
able to run it on multiple models or a single one and format the output as
HTML now. Previously I used the Rake task expecting it to behave the same
way passing --format html:path/to/file.html or setting it somehow in
spec.opts. But I''m not quite there yet. Should the Rake task work the same
way or is

broken URL on rspec.info
Hey folks. I was looking for the mailing list archive up on rspec.info.
I clicked on the "community" link and received the URL
"http://ey01-s00414/community/". This isn''t correct, obviously. The hint
shows it as, "http://rspec.info/community".
Where is the mailing list archive? How far back does it go? I''d really
like to read back through it

Gracefully stopping EventMachine?
Hello all,
I''ve been learning Ruby and playing with a chat server I built using
GServer. After into an issue I found with GServer, that no one else seemed
to notice (actually, similar to this question, GServer is hard to kill
nicely, especially when you want to.), I found references to EventMachine,
and rebuilt my server using it. I much prefer EventMachine''s model.

PHP probes
Hi all,
I remember at OSCON 2005 there was talk of adding DTrace probes
to PHP (in fact, I have a photo of Bryan and Wes working on it!).
Did they ever get into the upstream branch, ''cause I don''t recall
seeing a --enable-dtrace (or similar) configuration option when
I recently built PHP 5.2.1. If not, is there an ETA?
TIA,

Sending Access codes to a 5EE switch.
I have an Asterisk sever running with a TE406P card, and 4 pri T1's.
I am trying to findout how to send access codes to the switch. After a long
distance call is dialed, we get a second dial tone and I need to enter a 4
digit access code, then the switch will place the call. Does anyone know how
I can do this? Or does anyone know how to tell asterisk to send to 4 digit
code after it is

Renaming a pool?
Hi all,
I have a pool called tank/home/foo and I want to rename it to
tank/home/bar. What''s the best way to do this (the zfs and
zpool man pages don''t have a "rename" option)?
One way I can think of is to create a clone of tank/home/foo
called tank/home/bar, and then destroy the former. Is that
the best (or even only) way?
TIA,

Solaris 8/9 branded zones on ZFS root?
Hi all,
I have a situation where I need to consolidate a few servers running
Solaris 9 and 8. If the application doesn''t run natively on Solaris
10 or Nevada, I was thinking of using Solars 9 or 8 branded zones.
My intent would be for the global zone to use ZFS boot/root; would I
be correct in thinking that this will be OK for the branded zones?
That is, they don''t care about

CTDB Statistics Definitions and Scheme?
Hi Team,
I'm working on a CTDB Prometheus Exporter. I have two questions...
First, does anyone have an "internal" cheat sheet on the metrics and their
descriptions? I didn't really see much online, or in the source code.
Thanks

Gluster Management Console
Hi,
I am trying to set up the Gluster Management Console (backend servers - centos 6, glusterfs 3.3beta2, management gateway - centos 6). I can launch the java app and make it through the password changing screen. Then I choose "register" and input the cluster name and the IP of one of the backend servers.
I made it through the part where I had to set the root password on the backend

[AVS] Question concerning reverse synchronization of a zpool
Hi,
I''m struggling to get a stable ZFS replication using Solaris 10 110/06
(actual patches) and AVS 4.0 for several weeks now. We tried it on
VMware first and ended up in kernel panics en masse (yes, we read Jim
Dunham''s blog articles :-). Now we try on the real thing, two X4500
servers. Well, I have no trouble replicating our kernel panics there,
too ... but I think I

vfs readahead && windows server 2016/2019?
Quick question...
The docs for vfs readahead mention Windows Vista, but what about modern
Windows versions? Windows Server 2016 or Windows Server 2019?
Thank you,

Mounting Share at Boot
I am trying to mount a Windows share on my Linux machine at boot time.
I tried using the same syntax in /etc/fstab that is in /etc/mtab, but
this did not work.
Here is the mtab entry:
