Group permisions
ssh supports an override for StrictModes which allows a user to use group-writable .ssh directories. Is there an easy way to make openssh do this (I didn't see options in the source)? Or is this worth adding? Rafi

Administrative permisions
Good evening! I have installed samba 4.3.0pre1-GIT-6bbfb09 on centos 6.6 like active directory and domain controller. It turns out that, the past wednesday I lost  the administrative permissions of theadministrator and domain admins users. When I try to make a change at Remote Server Administration tool over one domain user says this: " the access rights are insufficient to carry out this

acl_tdb failed to convert file acl to posix permisions
We are using SAMBA 3.6.6 on Centos 5 with the acl_tdb VFS module. Our share is backed by storage on a SAN devices that does not support ACLs or extended attributes ... so we're trying the acl_tdb module as a mechanism to support Windows ACLs. We have verified that samba has ACL support enabled, and ACL support works find if we export the share from the local EXT4 filesystem. When trying to

Hm, samba 4.11.2-13 is running on CentOS? 8. Im not really into CentOS/RH im more Debian/Ubuntu.. But I suggest you try this. Remove [homes] ( or keep it but add a new one. ) Setup [users] Path = /home browseable = yes read only = no Test again against that new share, but not with smbclient alone, setup a cifs mount and test and/or use a windows client pc. odd issue with permisions
I'm really confused about something. It seems like on my samba server the user AND GROUP permissions must match for me to access any files in my home directory. Here's an example of what I mean: ($ = at unix shell, > = in smbclient) $ mkdir ~dan/test1 $ chmod 700 ~dan/test1 $ smbclient -U dan //localhost/dan > cd test1 > put test1.txt (failure, NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED) > quit

configurable sieve_max_redirects
Witam Sieve implementation in dovecot 1.2 have hard-coded limit for max redirect: SIEVE_DEFAULT_MAX_REDIRECTS 4. I have to rise this to much higher value, e.g. 64. Is there possibility to do this another way than recompiling source? Maybe adding an option to dovecot.conf in plugin section will be a good idea. -- Pozdrowienia Maciej Polewczynski Registered Linux user #117725 OGICOM Sp.

Running 'ssh' and 'scp' from a chroot jail (sandbox)
I have a need to have users SSH into a server where they are limited to a chroot jail (sandbox). Once they are there, they need to be able to execute 'ssh' and 'scp' to other systems. I've no problem setting up the basic chroot jail and providing basic functionality (ls, cat, less, etc). The part that is stopping me is setting it up so that that user can then 'ssh'
