Samba-2.2.0alpha-2 (interesting behavior)
Hello,
I am running Samba-2.2.0alpha-2 on a OpenLinux 2.3 (Caldera)
system, and I was wondering if this error message is NORMAL behavior
for a NT Server share mounted with the following command:
//inet_server_1/C /mnt/server1 -o username=xxxxxxxx,password=xxxxxx,ip=x.x.x.2
here is what is in /var/log/messages:

Missing In PATH
I'm a newb to linux so please be patient. Running CentOS 4. Using
Bash. I'm not sure what happened, but now for some reason /sbin,
/usr/sbin, and /usr/local/sbin are all missing from the path. I am su'd
as root. I've tried several different methods to put this back
including:

0.9.2 is old; 0.9.28 is current.
Please 'rm -fr ~/.wine' before you try the new version.

Problem with X tunneling, su, and xauth
Hi all.
I'm trying to use ssh to connect from a PC (using TerraTerm with the
ssh add-in) to a Solaris 8 or Solaris 9 box (both running OpenSSH
3.7.1p2) to establish a session for X-forwarding. Everything works
great, until I use "su" to change to another account (such as root).
The su'd user doesn't seem to be able to authenticate properly to use
the X-tunnel.

After successfully building R on Slackware Linux v11.0 I went to make
the documentation; the texi files went fine and then I hopefully issued
make dvi
after having gotten the warning to the effect of "You cannot build the

Resize ocfs....?
I've tried several times to resize one of my ocfs volumes[see emcpowere1 below]
I'm on the latest [prod] version of ocfs/ocfs-tools as of 3pm EST on 18JUL04.
Per instructions...
Take down db, unmount all ocfs drives, use ' tuneocfs -F -S 100G /dev/emcpowere1 '
Supposedly this should work, but I get get....
The size specified, 100G, is larger than the device size, 59G.
Aborting.

Hi,
Which version of gluster you are using?
You can find which file is that using the following command
find <brickpath> -samefile <brickpath/.glusterfs/<first two bits of
gfid>/<next 2 bits of gfid>/<full gfid>
Please provide the getfatr output of the file which is in split brain.
The steps to recover from split-brain can be found here,

2.4.9-ac18; issues with '/'
Hello,
I just went back to 2.4.9-ac18 from 2.4.10 (i386), and then
for the first time migrated all my ext2 partitions to ext3. I
did this over a series of reboots, as I confirmed that indeed
things continued to work. The last step I took was to convert
/.
I have set up /etc/fstab to mount my 'ext3' partitions with
'auto', I suppose thinking this will make it easier to roll

RE: Samba-3.0.0 on OpenBSD-3.4
It Lives!
I dl'd the current contents of:
pserver.samba.org/pub/unpacked/samba_3_0/source
ftp.openbsd.org/pub/OpenBSD/snapshots/i386
Upgraded my obsd34 box;
Samba compiled, loaded, joined the Domain, and testparm'd okay.
I don't know if the problem was the samba source or OpenBSD's code.
Don't really care, as long as it's up.
Here's my configure mods...I put it in

I am trying to back that complete image up on my centos 5 system.
I can do the dd if=/dev/hda bs=1M | ssh root at machine 'cat > disk.img'
which gets me the whole 100G.

openssh-2.1.0 and AFS
Hi!
I've noticed that openssh always does a do_setpag() if compiled with
AFS-support no matter which authentication method is used.
Maybe I'm missing something but shouldn't it only get a pag, if
AFS-token-passing is used?
If password authentication is used, an AFS-pam-module (or the authenticate
function on AIX) will do the job, otherwise, no token can be
obtained and therefore no

Slow backup and kernel upgrade issue.
I have a DL360 with dual 1266MHz processors, 2GB memory, and two 18.2 GB
hard drives mirrored using the integrated controller. Partitions are
formatted as ext3. I have noticed that the backup is up to 10 times slower
than similar systems we have using ext2 instead of ext3. I am not utilizing
any of the journaling capabilities of the filesystem.
In addition, I have tried to upgrade the kernel
