I've tried searching the web and haven't been able to find a lot of information. 6TB SCSI RAID vs. Centos
I have an Infortrend RAID box I'd like to see as one big 6TB partition, but I only can get 2.2TB partitions to work. I was trying to do this with an Adaptec controller but apparently they are only (any of them) 48 bits wide. Does anybody have a working system for SCSI/Centos over 2.2TB? (off-topic)Update sii-3512A serial ata controller - which flash memory?
Hi. I had to update the BIOS of a Silicon Image 3512A Serial ATA controller. I''m not using RAID. When I run the updater program (updflash.exe), it asks me to choose flash memory from a list, something like: AMD Am29F010B (1 Megabit), AMD Am29LV01B (1 Megabit), etc. How can I find out which is flash memory of the controller? Thanks Marcelo

Printer Configuration
There used to be a CUI tool to configure printers from a server without X running. Is there still that tool but renamed to something else? Or do you have to use VNC and X to remotely configure printers starting with 5.x?

OT: SA/Apache "Best Practice"?
Alle, Here is our situation: Our customer leases their machines from us and contract us to to manage them (as far as all systems administration issues). The customer does not have root access to any machine (by their own choice, as they want us to be responsible if something goes awry). In the case of their web servers, we handle all configuration, they manage the content. We make changes

Suggested way to remotely monitor servers and networks these days?
Hi folks, I'm just wondering what is the recommended way of monitoring servers and networks remotely. My current setup is to install and configure cacti and nagios. I've set these up to require SSL. This way, I can easily go to them and login from wherever I am and monitor (almost) everything I need to monitor. The problem is that leaving cacti open was the most stupid thing I've

Network and default route
I have had this problem on and off since RedHat 6, and I always worked through it, but I thought I would ask. When you have multiple network interfaces, how does the system determine the default route? Or is it the first, (or last) interface that comes up? On the problem systems I have to add a "route add default..." statement in some systems in the rc.local to get them to work right.

I presume it failed because my named virtual host

CentOS 5 Issues Booting Under VMWare
Hi, VMWare has been a great tool for me to experiment with CentOS 3 and CentOS 4. However, I'm running into issues with CentOS 5. First, it is *extremely* slow to boot (as in it takes over an hour to boot CentOS 5 on a machine that boots CentOS 3 & 4 in less than one minute). Then, after an hour of slowly watching the messages go by on the console and the CPU of the host machine pegged
