X problem (radeon/intel-agp) on unstable
Hi,
since 2.0.4 didn''t work with my notebook (see ''[Xen-devel] "general
protection faults" in dom0 when loading intel-agp module'') I tried
xen-testing. Now I''m on xen-unstable but I still get the following problem.
X loads but doesn''t display anything more than the X cursor. The rootwindow
looks kind of strange. Please see

memory error?
I have just noticed this message in my kernel logs, reporting the possibility of an error with my memory. This would go a long way towards explaining the problems i''ve been having. This particular error is occuring when i''m not running xen so is obviously not something brought on by xen itself.
The strange thing is that the NMI error is always followed by the TLAN: eth0: Adaptor

R] Error message "cs_lu(A) failed: near-singular A (or out of memory)"
Dear Arne,
thank you very much upfront for your time that you invest in answering my question.
I'm using your systemfit R package to analyze if companies risk appetite has a relationship to their performance and how it evolves over time. We collected data for ca. 80 companies, from 6 segments over 15 years that gives us a final data set with 1,312 firm-year observations. We have set up 3

Vorbis for digital radio at low bitrates
Dear Vorbis Devteam,
My name is Michael Feilen and I've been working on Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) transmitters and receivers for quite a while now. DRM uses HE-AACv2 by Dolby to encode the audio content (see http://www.drm.org/uploads/media/es_201980v030101p.pdf - pages 23 ff). As I think Vorbis is an excellent alternative, I'd like to implement and define an interface for Vorbis

Did Microsoft release any useful information . . . ?
Hello,
I just read on an austrian news site ( http://futurezone.orf.at/hardcore/stories/289596/
) that Microsoft released documentation of some of their protocols.
On the site there are 4 links to Microsoft:

R 2.7.1 und WinEdt (PR#11806)
Hi,
under the new version R 2.7.1 I can't use WinEdt. It seems that there is
a bug in that version. To use older versions of the package RWinEdt
doens't bring success. The Use of R 2.7.0 doesn't cause that Problem.

hi.
for domain migration, this is an obvious procedure in order to announce
the relocation of the guest being bridged on a different host.
i''ve been grepping around the xen build tree to see whether and where
this is covered. haven''t found anything yet. is this covered by linux
kernel bridging already, or is it just missing [read: left as a

Hi Mehdi,
thanks a lot for your email. Actually I was disappointed by the fact
that I was not able to get a useful answer to my two questions.
As I observed that the questions move down along the list with time
passing I decided to re-post them in the hope that the questions
will have a better visibility.
Could you help me with the two questions? Finding an expert in this area

Unbalanced data in split-plot analysis with aov()
Dear all,
I'm analysing a split-plot experiment, where there are sometimes one or
two values missing. I realized that if the data is slightly unbalanced,
the effect of the subplot-treatment will also appear and be tested
against the mainplot-error term.
I replicated this with the Oats dataset from Yates (1935), contained in
the nlme package, where Variety is on mainplot, and nitro on

Re: Horrendously slow transfer speeds in FC3 is drivi ng mecrazy!!! Please help... - SOLVED!
Does SMB need Push bits acknowledged? I had a similar problem
with sloooow printing on OpenBSD, and had to set the AckOnPush parameter
to enabled. That cured the printing issue for me.
Just a thought...

Suppress horizontal mean line in beanplot()
Hi,
I would like to use the beanplot() function from the beanplot package.
Unfortunately, I can't find out how to suppress the dashed horizontal
line, that shows the overall mean.
In the help I've found the argument "overallline", but it only allows
for "mean" or "median" .
I have tried overallline = F, overallline="n", and

dots and substitute
Hi,
is there an elegant way to use 'substitute' with '...' arguments?
My first try was this:
> f1 <- function(...) substitute(...)
> f1( 2+7, "foo", 3+5 )
2 + 7
As you can see, substitute acts only on the first argument. So I tried
> f2 <- function(...) substitute(list(...))
> f2( 2+7, "foo", 3+5 )
list(2 + 7, "foo", 3 + 5)
