Using R for Production - Discussion
Hello Group,
This is an open-ended question.
Quite fascinated by the things I can do and the control I have on my
activities since I started using R.
I basically have been using this for analytical related work off my desktop.
My experience has been quite good and most issues where I need to
investigate and solve are typical items more related to data errors, format
corruption, etc... not

rsync over ssh
I have been trying to get rsync with ssh to work and have found that even
though I have a daemon running it spawns another when I connect (running as
the user I sshed as). This was in the enhancements for 2.5.6. I am trying
to figure out how i can use the ssh for security but still connect to the
daemon that I have running as root so i can back up all of my files that
arn't readable by anyone

Testing Ogg Vorbis with modules.
To anyone who wants to compare Ogg Vorbis to various other
codecs, or at all, try converting modules (.mod/.xm/.it/etc) to .wav
and then encoding them with oggenc.
While most modules arn't what most people would use Vorbis for, it
will give you a good idea on what it can (and can't!) do.
www.modarchive.com has loads of modules. Try the techno ones, in
particular.

Old metadata for centosplus 4 repo.
Hi Centos maintainers !
Could You please refresh repo data for centosplus reposytory 4 ? There
are new kernels rpms, but repo index files arn't updated. Please fix that.
For example: http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4/centosplus/x86_64/ rpm
from 20 oct 2010 but meatadata from 28 sep 2010 ...
P.S:
That was 17 nov 2010 fixed for centosplus 5 repo, but centosplus 4 was
omitted.

Missing folders
I've recently had a oops with the system I was running dovecot on so
have had to move it to a new machine, I've been able to retrieve the
mbox files from the old machine, built the new machine and over wrote
the new mbox files with the old one in maildir, connecting to the server
via imap woeks but I can only see the mail in the inbox from the old
mbox files, emails in sub directories

First try was with grep/egrep but I wanted to capture 'startsector 32' as a group (). Nothing came close to working.

Are dashes OK in Domain Name?
I was browsing through the SAMBA workgroups defined here:
E51-CAE, E51-WAAS, etc... everything looked fine (well, with
the exception of subnet browsing) until I displayed the
properties of the machines in the workgroups.
Select a SAMBA host, right-click on the hostname and select
'Properties' from an NT4 machine displays the domain as "E51";
everything from the dash onward

samba 3.0 - ldap - pdc
hi all,
i am actually trying to get samba 3.01 (on SLES 8.0) working as PDC with
the ldap backend. I have already configured nsswitch to also use ldap
for groups and passwords (the root user is still in the /etc/passwd file
- i can't imagine that putting the root user into openldap is a really
good idea).
There is one sentence in the howto

Sieve-Editor
Hi all.
I'm looking for an editor for sieve-scripts. I tried the Squirrelmail
plugin "avelsieve", but it requires "timsieved", wich Dovecot doesn't use.
I don't want my users to write sieve-scripts on the console and
server-side-filtering is absolutely required.
I know that there are some frontends available, but I can't figure out,
which one really works

On purpose slow copy support?
I'd like to use rsync on a production box that has a great deal of
memory-cached filesystem in use at all times. Is there any way, or any
other tool, that will do a "slow" copy? purposefully not busting the
cache by copying things as fast as possible?
"nice" does not work, of course, as that is a cpu scheduling control.
What I want is basically lowest-priority or

[LLVMdev] insert ICmpInst/BranchIns in Pass?
In a pass I would like to insert a ICmpInst/BranchInst pair to check
if 2 GlobalVariables are equal or not. If they are not I would like to
call a function. I've tried splitting the current block and then
inserting before the existing instructions, but for some reason this
seems to ruin the iterator(i). What is the correct way todo something
like this?

Sorting by Sender Name
Dear Timo,
Posted this originally to the squirrelmail list but they said that
sorting is done server side so concluded I needed to talk to you:
=============
I feel there is an error in the logic of the sort by From column. If you
sort by this column, the messages are re-ordered in alphabetical order
using the *email address* as the sorted word.
However most people these days have their

[LLVMdev] Trouble Resolving Objective-C Symbols in lli
Hi there, I'm trying to run trivial Objective-C code that uses the
Foundation framework under MacOS X in lli. It seems that the code will
compile and
run using llc, however fails to work in lli.
SimpleFoundation.m:

2.4.13 Stability?
Hiya,
Now that 2.4.13 has been release, any word on how stable ext3 is on this?
Hope they haven't broken anything in the vm again....;) I'm currently running
2.4.8 and I'm very happy with it and given the nightware over the past few
releases, just wanted to find out what the state-of-play is at the moment.
