Domain Logons
Hello, I am new to Samba. I run FreeBSD 2.2.5-stable and Version 1.9.17p4. I would like my FreeBSD server to act as a DOMAIN Logon. And, for example if user riso logges in (using his FreeBSD box password) his /home/riso should be automatically maped to G: or something. The error message I get is: "You have entered an incorrect password, or access to your logon server has been denied."

Fwd: Automatic mapping shares on logon time
Yes sorry for my mistake, we need map share folders that the user have permission, at logon time on Linux Desktop User. And if for example a user change of departament or area, the shares change, so we change the maps shares folders on logon. On Windows users is easy like GPO o logon script but on Linux Desktop Users is more complex i think. regards. ---------- Forwarded message ---------

Dennis, if you are running samba as an AD DC, you will need to use the new variable names %ACCOUNTNAME% and %WORKGROUP%. Logon Hours with Samba PDC

I have set up a a Samba PDC and have mapped shares, authenticated users, blah blah blah, .... everything seems to work fine. I checked with 'rpcclient' to see what sort of information is

intermitent domain logon failures
I have an issue where at odd times, maybe after 3 days, maybe after a week, people suddenly cant do domain logons. Unfortunately the machine is 50km away so i'm sure theres more details I can glean once I can interogate the users a bit more. Things I have noticed: Anyone currently logged in can still work fine. A restart of samba fixes the issue (till it hapens next). ps ax shows smbd and

Windows 7 logon problems
I have a client with 10+ Windows 10/32-bit clients and 3 Windows 7/32-bit. I converted them today to Samba 4.12, and after some fixes, I now have working shares and roaming profiles for the Win 10 clients. However, the Win7 clients dont get the shares mapped at logon properly (at all). I tried to run the netlogon script manually from Windows/Sysvol/sysvol/<domain>/scripts after mounting the

Samba "%G" replacement not working in "Logon script" ?
Dear all, I experience now a strange bug with Samba 4.1.11 : When I define a fixed-name as logon script in smb.conf, it works : logon script = employee.bat But if I try either %g.bat or %G.bat, or even "%G.bat", it doesn't work : * logon script = %g.bat * logon script = %G.bat * logon script = "%G.bat" In the logs, there was a message showing that Samba was

Automatic mapping shares on logon time
Hey, You need to create a GPO. There's a very good description here: https://activedirectorypro.com/map-network-drives-with-group-policy/ You can map drive per user, per group or a combination, with or without exclusions. There is a mistake in the article; you should use %LogonUser% instead of %username%. Best regards jmpatagonia via samba <samba at lists.samba.org> escreveu no dia

Samba "%G" replacement not working in "Logon script" ?
Dear Ricky, Thanks a lot for your answer. But I still have two problems: 1. I am not using samba as AD DC but as PDC. 2. What I would need is the primary group... Do you thinks %WORKGROUP% could work ? 3. And should I use %WORKGROUP% in smb.conf or in batch login script... Thanks a lot in advance for your help...
