Credentials Error
Hi folks. I've set up several shares on our Unix host 'Geddon' which have all been working fine. The shares have all had the same valid user who I set-up using smbpasswd. I then set-up a second user (devsrc) in smbpasswd and made the new user the sole valid user of one of the shares (data1). Whenever I try to access this share the following Windows NT error occurs. I was wondering

So that the applications developed on

Using PAM - Logging into Linux using an NT Domain account
Hello Samba Users, I work for the IT Department of a small company and we've already replaced our NT4 File Servers with Linux servers running Samba. We'd like to replace some of our windows workstations also. It would be really cool if employee's could log into the Linux workstations using their existing NT accounts ! Has anybody had much luck using winbind and PAM to allow log on to

Gamemaker 5.3 under wine on OSX?
I'm very new to wine, so please excuse my noobness. I'm going to be teaching a course on Game Design for non-programmers in the fall. The school is an all-mac operation, but I'd like to use YoYo Game's Gamemaker to teach the course. YoYo has a mac version in beta, but it is unclear if it will reach release in time for my class to begin. I know that the current version of

Improving on Rice coding
Hello, I am the author of the Bonk audio compression program... i've just been looking at your comparrison table, and i noticed bonk gets marginally better compression than Flac on some files (actually i was rather surprised to see bonk on the list at all, it's not exactly high profile :-) ). Bonk in lossless mode is a pretty naive implementation of a predictive coder, so the main

Moving to Dovecot
Hi there, I'm currently running IMAP with Courier and POP3 with Solid-POP3d. I'd like to migrate IMAP and POP3 to both use Dovecot. All this works fine in testing, except for the fact that I have two types of users for legacy reasons. One type of user has a Maildir-style inbox at ~/Maildir/ The other type has a mbox-style inbox at ~/Mailbox Is it possible to make Dovecot look for

R friends, I am using R 2.1.0 in a Win XP . I have a problem working with lists, probably I do not understand how to use them. Lets suppose that a set of patients visit a clinic once a year for 4 years on each visit a test, say 'eib' is performed with results 0 or 1 The patients do not all visit the clinic the 4 times but they missed a lot of visits. The test is considered positive if it

Request: Please incorporate Hideaki Gotos Watchdog patch into OpenSSH
Hello, Hideaki Goto has written a patch for OpenSSH that adds heartbeat and watchdog functions to OpenSSH: http://www.sc.isc.tohoku.ac.jp/~hgot/sources/openssh-watchdog.html The heartbeat function sends an SSH_MSG_IGNORE packet every <n> seconds to the server, and the watchdog function checks incoming packets only to see if the connection has been interrupted. Where I work, all Internet

TDMoE - best signalling method?
I'm just experimenting with dynamic spans using TDMoE, which looks ideal for clustering Asterisk boxes with low latency (i.e. 1ms for TDMoE compared with 20ms for IAX). When using normal E1s and T1s, I've always used ISDN signalling: either EuroISDN or NI2. So naturally I tried that over the TDMoE. I've found that I get a lot of HDLC errors and the D-channel is up and down like a

Tag Recommendations Recommendations
Some suggestions for the recommendations on http://reactor-core.org/ogg-tag-recommendations.html: Add in a table of contents. Please. Rename the title to "Vorbis-style Comment Field Recommendations" (change capitalization to taste) to reflect that FLACs and Speex files could be tagged according to this recommendation. Do note that not just Ogg (or, for that matter, .ogg) files can use
