win98-samba2.0.7 = Network collisions
Hi,
I have an Samba 2.0.7 Fileserver on my RedHat 7.0 Linuxbox
Access to the shares with an Linuxclient - all works fine.
When I use an Win98 or WIN ME client, I've got many network collisions.
(Same file and share)
Any ideas ?
Thereis only one socket option set in my smb.conf: socket option = TCP_NODELAY

Fwd: Samba semantics error?
Hello,
I have this bug report that I have filed. Is there any specific reason why
samba behaves this way, and doesn't use the unix semantics? Since this is
even more restrictive than unix semantics, I'm more inclined to call it a
bug until I know it's supposed to be this way.
Any ideas?

Player loading the file when you click on it.
To work around this I had to go into Windows Explorer and change the folder

on it.

Case Sensitivity vs. Case Preservation
Hi John,
I recently wrote a little internal article in HP to try to graphically show
the difference between case sensitivity and case preservation (Unix is case
sensitive, NT only 'preserves case'). Perhaps this will help you understand
it better, and configure your Samba server to do what you want. It was
originally a ms word document format, so you may have to fiddle around with

Printing with samba2.0.7
Hi all,
I've just install samba2.0.7 on server Tru64.
We have one printer HP5Si and others HP4 on the network. Using Samba from
our Win95 customer we can print correctly to HP4 but to our HP5si we have
the file wanted and one blank page and one page indicated "@PJL RDYMSG
DISPLAY=" " ". So we want to suppress these pages. Is there anyone who can
help me ?

smb> print /home/test.txt
...system annonuces printing but nothing really
happens until another printing job is being sent
from windows machine, printing my linux page as the first one.

have a hosts allow or hosts deny line in your smb.conf. If you don't
want samba to do reverse lookups, then comment out any allow/deny hosts
lines in your smb.conf file.

tinc
Hello Mike,
<mikef> hi. I installed tinc.rpm to two servers (both of which are acting
as firewalls)
<mikef> they can connect to each other successfully according to
/var/log/messages, but I can't get traffic to move across it
<mikef> anybody have any ideas?
It's probably something with wrong settings for Virtual IP's and/or
routing. Could you please
