Printing from Windows 2000 to Linux
I keep getting this error when I attempt to print from Windows 2000 to my

"Test page failed to print. Would you like to view the print trouble

VPN?
Once you have Samba shares up and running on the
internal network, how do you go about making them
available (browsable) via the Internet--a VPN?
I hate to say it but in Windows 2k it's just a matter
of a few clicks on the server and client. I'm hoping
that it's not much harder with a Linux server/Windows
client. Anything involving something like SSH will be
too hard for most users.

ISDN2e card
Can anybody recommend an ISDN2e card that is a reasonable price.
Also, does anybody know if the AVM B1 V4 card has the echo problems, I
believe I saw somebody mention they had echo problems on the V3 card.
Thanks

WERR_BAD_NET_RESP on replication (--full-sync)
Hello,
We have a Windows 2008 DC (inview-dc1 and a samba 4.4.16 (inview-dc2)
server as a backup DC.
The system for the most-part works OK, but occasionally the Samba DC
goes wildly out of sync (with respect to group membership), normally
after a change to a large group.
I have noted previously before the out-of-sync event occurs, this
command always fails thus :

Thanks Garming.
We currently use a standalone bind DNS server. Will the later version of
samba work without the integrated DNS backend?
Cheers

I used to get bad echo and also voice breaking up during a conversation, so
I upgraded the machine (from a PII 300 to a Athlon 1.8GHz) and have resolved
the voice breaking up issues but still seem to have a fairly bad echo on

Currently I am only using the system for outbound calls, so I am always

OpenSSH 2.5.1p1 on RH 5.2 experience
I decided to upgrade to OpenSSH 2.5.1p1/openssl 0.9.6 on all my Linux boxes.
I ran into a compilation problem with the OpenSSH tarball on a machine running
Redhat 5.2. I used the tarball since I don't like RPMs, and there is no binary
RPM for RH 5.2 anyway.
The error manifests itself in the openbsd-compat directory.
This is the compiler warning:

Build error due to Waf task dependency cycle in run_after
Dear all,
trying to build some Heimdal-based packages for Samba AD DC under
openSUSE I am facing some difficulties with the build system:
During the installation which is triggered by "make install" waf complains
about some task dependency cycle after leaving folder bin/default.
Full log including config options can be seen unter https://build.opensuse.org/

WERR_BAD_NET_RESP on replication (--full-sync)
Hi,
Many of these syncing problems were solved in Samba 4.7 (and probably a
few more in 4.8). There were a number of unresolved locking issues that
we uncovered as well as some inconsistencies with Windows replication. I
would try join a DC with one of the latest Samba versions and see if
your problems persist.
Cheers,
Garming

Printers and setting up Windows partitions (from Derek's advice): 5/18/2005
When I will network my printer-connect Windows computer to my
Mandrake/whatever Linux computer, I would have the following as facts:
1. Samba is needed
2. The CUPs program is needed
3. Konqueror with the Lisa "protocol" (shall I say that?) would help,
but it's not preferred.
THis is where I'm at a cross-roads. From what I've read so far, Kon is
the only thing that's to
