Problems with Passwordchange from NT4 to samba 2.7.7
Hello all,
I've got a little problem to change the user-password from NT4 on a samba-server
(RedHat 8.0) - but I can get without any problem shares on that server with that
user and password. Why does samba say, I would supply a wrong password to my
userid?
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you for your tips,
kind regards,
Andreas Hartmann

password changing errors
For several versions now, we've been unable to get password changing to work
*without errors*. Now management would like to see it working fantastic so
that we can age passwords, but without errors. No matter what I do, I get a
couple of errors. The first time I try to change from a 7 letter password
to '#1password', which should be complex enough for any rule, I get:

Here's a log snippet from the server after a logon attempt from the workstation in question, with the failed workstation authentication. I'm not sure how to further debug "credentials check failed":

The logs (attached) seem to indicate that the user Administrator is

Can't get user list in Win98se
Hello all,
I've already searched the old topics about this subject on the
newsgroup, and haven't found so far an alternative to solve the problem.
I have a Samba PDC (domain JMU) with Mandriva 2006, samba 3.0.13-2 and
OpenLDAP 2.2.23 (nss_ldap 220) .
Packages installed on the server related to samba and ldap:

Samba shared folders and windows 7 permissions dialog.
Hi there
Trying to solve an issue with samba and windows 7 permissions dialog. Problem is that
sometimes windows 7 permissions dialog is lacking ldap users and groups.
Looks like my problem is related to this one:
https://forums.freenas.org/index.php?threads/users-and-groups-not-showing-up-in-windows-7.46023/
Sadly there is no solution in that thread.
Consider the following setup: linux debian
