F-test degree of freedoms in lme4 ?
I have a problem moving from multistratum aov analysis to lmer.
My dataset has observations of ampl at 4 levels of gapf and 2 levels of bl
on 6 subjects levels VP, with 2 replicates wg each, and is balanced.
Here is the summary of this set with aov:
>> summary(aov(ampl~gapf*bl+Error(VP/(bl*gapf)),hframe2))

Troubles with my HDD
Hello all,
I am new to this list and hope that my mail is not OFF TOPIC. After
looking around for 2 months now, to find a solution, I will try it here now.
Now the scenario: I bought a new cool dell laptop:
INSPIRON 8100, 512MB RAM, NVIDEA GeForce2Go 32MB, 30GB Hitachi hard disk
and a DVD. I bought it with WinME preinstalled, because it wasn't

Problem communicating from server to client
Hello,
I've set up a tinc "server" named "spitzer" in proxy arp mode, and a
client "inspiron" that connects to it.
inspiron runs tinc 1.0.16, spitzer runs 1.0.11.
Ping and ssh from inspiron to spitzer and other hosts in the network
(via spitzer) works fine.

Problem on model simplification with glmmPQL
Hi all,
I try to make a split-plot with poisson errors using glmmPQL, but I
have some doubts about the model simplification.
Look my system:
Block = 3 blocks
Xvar1 = 2 levels
Xvar2 = 13 levels
Yvar = Count data Response
I need know about the behaviour of Var1, Var2 and interaction
Var1:Var2.
Look the levels:
> levels(Xvar1)
[1] "A" "B"
> levels(Xvar2)

[LLVMdev] Efficient Pattern matching in Instruction Combine
Even if you can't implement such an algorithm sanely, ISTM that
auto-generating this code from a table (or whatever), and choosing
canonical results (to avoid a fixpoint issue), rather than what seems
to be hand-additions of every possible set of minimizations on three
variables, is still a better solution, no?
At least then you wouldn't have human errors, and a growing file that

[LLVMdev] Efficient Pattern matching in Instruction Combine
Thanks Sean for the reference.
I will go through it and see if i can implement it for generic boolean
expression minimization.

Needed to use -s option with syslinux to boot USB disk on Dell Laptop
Hi,
I WAS experiencing a problem while attempting to boot Knoppix V5.0.1 off a
USB key using SYSLINUX.
Having almost sent the following text as a request for help I can now tag it
as a solution! :)
The USB drive is a Corsair Flash Voyager 1024 MB, with a 745 MB partition
I'm trying (now succesfully) to use for the purpose of booting Knoppix. I've
followed the instructions on this

I have a Dell Inspiron 13 (8th generation) that I bought from Costco. I
am running CentOS 7 on it. I was told that it has the same hardware of
XPS 13.
Most things work well out

subnet-up invocations
Hello,
I'm confused by the subnet-up calls made by tinc. I was assuming that
I'd be called once when it connects to another node. However, subnet-up
appears to be called much more often than that.
For example, I have the following configuration:
,----
| $ cat tinc.conf
| ConnectTo = spitzer
| Name = chronos
| Mode = switch
|
| $ cat hbt/hosts/spitzer
| address =

Intel SATA controller (cmiiw) not recognized by Centos 5.1 installation?
Hi, there,
I tried to install Centos 5.1 on a Dell Inspiron 530 box I just bought, but
failed due to invalid drive. The installation did not recognize either the
DVD nor the hard disk. Joseph from the community said it is likely that
Centos can't recognize the controller -- Intel SATA controller (cmiiw).
Did anyone solve this problem before? How did you do it?
