RE: Samba-3.0.0 on OpenBSD-3.4
It Lives!
I dl'd the current contents of:
pserver.samba.org/pub/unpacked/samba_3_0/source
ftp.openbsd.org/pub/OpenBSD/snapshots/i386
Upgraded my obsd34 box;
Samba compiled, loaded, joined the Domain, and testparm'd okay.
I don't know if the problem was the samba source or OpenBSD's code.
Don't really care, as long as it's up.
Here's my configure mods...I put it in

artifact bug status? / compiling under OpenBSD 2.8
Hi!
On March 17th I posted a message on this list concerning an artifact bug
in beta4 that is audible in all available bitrates. It was this rumbling
sound in the bass area. I made a demo clip, which still is available at
http://www.stud.uni-karlsruhe.de/~us87/ogg/vorbis_bassrumble_demo.rar
and that contains both the original .WAV and an .OGG @ 350kbps. This
archive is 2.1 MB large.

3.7.1p2 on OpenBSD 2.8/sparc
Hello,
I'm trying to compile openssh 3.7.1p2 on a sparc 5 running OpenBSD
2.8.
I compiled and installed OpenSSL 0.9.7b, and the tests all pass
without error.
I configured openssh with --with-ssl-dir=/usr/local/ssl and ssh
compiles fine, however when it attepts to make a rsa1 key, ssh-keygen
core dumps:
oldyeek# make host-key
(cd openbsd-compat && make)
gcc -o ssh-keygen

OpenSSH 3.1 and OpenBSD 2.8 problem
I'm having trouble with OpenSSH 3.1 on an OpenBSD 2.8 box. I apply the
patch (the second patch, date/time March 7 12:41 GMT) and I can't
connect to it from any other box using Version 1 protocols. I get this:

Samba on OpenBSD 3.1
I have installed samba on openbsd 3.1 with a pkg_add and everything went
fine but for some reason it seems as if the executable to start samba is not
there, what am I missing here is the install docs I followed but still can't
get it started. Smbd and nmbd is under /usr/local/libexec but samba will not
start.

Dovecot in OpenBSD ports system
Hi
I have put together dovecot port for the OpenBSD ports system. The port
has yet to be submitted, but is finished awaiting testing from a wider
audience. I have been using dovecot successfully on OpenBSD/sparc64
-current for months now with no problems.
Would you recommend including the CR+LF patch?

FW: FW: Adding OpenBSD sudo to the FreeBSD base system?

Sudo requires extra configuration that su does not.
Why should I have to waste my time configuring another app just because a
handful of people want it? I like su and how it works and I guarantee I am
not the only one. You want it replaced replace it your self
cd /usr/ports/security/sudo && make install clean
That simple! Don't waste

"All you need to do is uncomment that and viola, you have default su

Exactly! Every other user can sudo.
I run many shell servers I do not want every user being able to sudo.
With su, first they have to break into an account that is part of the wheel
group. Then

solved: building icecast2 on OpenBSD
don't use Winamp 3. it doesn't work with ogg. try Winamp 2.8 instead or
even better Foobar2000.

Booting OpenBSD with pxelinux
I've got PXE/TFTP setup for various Linux distributions and some
utilities (clonezilla, dban, etc). I'm now starting in on OpenBSD.
As far as I've been able to figure out via internet searches, pxelinux
(from the syslinux package) is unable to pass control of a machine
directly to a BSD kernel. Instead, you have to use the BSD-supplied
'pxeboot' loader. The naming

Compiling icecast2 under OpenBSD 3.1
Hi,
<p>Finally, I succeeded in compiling Icecast2 under OpenBSD. It neither
worked for me on OBSD 3.0 nor my old 2.8, but the new 3.1 appears to
come with more icecast-friendly (p)threads.
OpenBSD 3.1 isn't officially released, yet, but installing a current
snapshot and getting the sources via CVS (module OPENBSD_3_1_BASE,
