Some MS Software doesn't work with SAMBA?
Can it be that our accounting packages don't work
on SMB and only with NT?
I would HATE to put a NT Box into the mix.

automatic adding of forms when adding a printerdriver
Hello
I have a problem with the adding of formular sizes when a new printerdrives
is added.
When I install a samba server the standard formsizes from A2 to A6 are
available.
If I install a large format printer with papersize A0 this formsize isn't
installed and so it is not possible to printout on A0 to the printer.
Is this a know bug or is it "normal"
Any help is welcomer

SAMBA SSL: Error error setting CA
Hi everyone,
There's been a few people lately asking about this problem. I've already
offered the solution twice, and I believe Andrew has mentioned it too, but
we obviously keep getting new people on the list ;) So here's how to fix
it, once again:
Add the following line to the [global] section of your smb.conf:
ssl CA certDir = /usr/share/ssl/certs
That's it! The default

Excell 2000 under Samba
We are using Samba on a Sun Solaris system having
shareable folders between users of Sun and NT
workstations.
Having recently upgraded a number of users from Office
97 to Office 2000, we are now experiencing a situation
with Excel where two users can now modify the same
file at the same time.
This was not allowed with Excel 97.
We have not made any changes to the Samba
configuration and are

nmblib.c:send_udp
I've been having some odd problems with samba and it's libsmb/nmblib parts.
It seems to be trying to transmit data to the .63 of my netblock, i.e. the
IP of the machine would be 24.240.60.20, it'd be trying to transmit to
24.240.60.63. I've changed IPs about 15 times since, and it does it to each
different block I change to. If the IP of the local machine got changed to

Mounting samba shares
Hi,
I'm trying to mount samba shares onto the file system, but at the moment
i only seem to be able to mount them as root. I've tried changing the
permissions on the mount point and even mounting it on a subdir of my
home directory but mount just keeps telling me that only root can do
this. I've put an entry for the mount in /etc/fstab with the user
option, what have i missed?

smbclient -b parameter
I've got problems getting files from a win2000 server using smbclient
(see subject "SMBClient & Windows 2000"). I've tried using the -b
parameter (documented in the online man pages) to change the buffersize
in case that might be the problem but the smbclient I'm running doesn't
recognise it. I've installed 2.0.7 on Compaq Tru64, smbclient declares

Two Simple Questions (Multi Home)
Dear Samba List,
I have been reading the archives for mention of multi-homed Samba, and
Samba over multiple subnets. I have two questions:
1) It is true that the nmbd daemon will only allow one IP address per
subnet to be added to the local interface list? So if I had a Linux
machine with two NIC cards connecting to the same HUB, using the same
subnet, only one of these interfaces will be

Strange problem between clients and SAMBA server
I have files many SAMBA file shares on a unix bot and clients are connecting to those file shares.
1. Problem: I can use explorer to view, browse and access files in those file shares without any problems except files on the top level which I can not double click to open them. Any lower level files are no problem.
2. When I use excel or word (Notepad, wordpad and others have no problem) and

Possible fix for grandstream outgoing
The latest chan_sip.c works for my budgetones with the following lines removed. YMMV. I haven't bothered to dig in and see what those lines actually do. Did soneone just get wacky with cut and paste from the peer while loop? Or am I breaking something else.
