Problem with file system
While I untar a large archive on xfs , ext3 (ver 1.3 and ver 1.4) file systems , on ppc processor and kernel ver 2.6.21 , I get an error. Also sometimes, on ext3 (1.3 and 1.4) the file system goes read-only while untarring. The same tar file when untarred on a i386 machine works properly. large data set, error: cannot allocate vector
Why am I getting the error "Error: cannot allocate vector of size 512000 Kb" on a machine with 6 GB of RAM? I'm playing with some large data sets within R and doing some simple statistics. The data sets have 10^6 and 10^7 rows of numbers. R reads in and performs summary() on the 10^6 set just fine. However, on the 10^7 set, R halts with the error. My hunch is that

GraphNEL object retrieve edgenumber from acc() or is it list of lists?
Hello everyone, Im working with graphNEL object and want to extract all the nodes which have adjacent nodes with at least 20 nodes in between them. acc(graph, graphnodes) obviously provides a list for the accessable nodes of every node from a node and a number of the edges between them. Like this: $`hsa:8379` hsa:100131844 hsa:10393 hsa:246184 hsa:29882 hsa:29945 1

Indexing Mail faster
Hi, I am trying to get faster search results on our webmail client(Roundcube). Besides using Lucene for FTS are there other options? Would having all mails indexed give fast results? Currently the time it takes to search 25,000mails is 4mins. If indexed how much faster are we looking at? Really appreciate if someone could advise about this. Thanks Kevin

Regular crashes
I have just setup asterisk on a debian sarge box. I am running Asterisk 1.21 with AMP and chan_capi_cm 0.6.1 using a BT Speedway (AVM Fritz) ISDN card, connected to a BT ISDN2e line. Currently we have 6 extensions (SIP) configured all using CounterPath(Xten) eyebeam softphone. After many hours of Googling I have finally got it all setup and working. I appear to be attacking others
It looks like my CentOS 4.2 box is attacking other people with some type of ftp attack. I got an email from somebody saying they were being attacked by my IP address. Further investigation /var/log/messages shows a whole bunch of sshd attacks on me, none of which appear successful. I'm running ethereal right now and I can see that my system is doing some kind of ftp attacks on others.
