Trusted domains with Samba 3.0alpha21?
Hi there!
I appear to be having problems with trusted domains using 3.0a21.
Using Samba as a member server, as user "nirs" on domain "Exanet-il" I
am unable to log on to a member server ("snow") who is a member of the
"Exanet-qa" domain. The "exanet-qa" is supposed to trust "exanet-il",
and it all worked with 2.2 . This is the relevant

Which .tdb files are safe to remove?
Hello,
which .tdb files in /var/lib/samba are safe to remove (rebuilt automatically)?
Long story:
I have posted a couple of times lately regarding some mysterious freeze
effects we've been having on the clients. We have now tried 2.2.4, 2.2.7a
(this one makes it even worse) and 2.999 (3.0 pre-X) and have the same
trouble on all.
It seems the same configuration does NOT cause this

encoding problem: gap a few seconds after start of song
Hello,
I am in the process of oggifying my CD collection, but I seem to have a
consistent problem with the encoding: after a few seconds of starting a
mew song there is a gap, a small pause in the encoded .ogg file. It
happens in about 30% of the cases. It probably has something to do with
adapting to sudden volume changes since occasionally it also happens in
the middle of a piece of music when

Random effect model
Dear R-help group,
I would like to model directly following random effect model:
Y_ik = M_ik + E_ik where M_ik ~ N(Mew_k,tau_k^2)
E_ik ~ N(0,s_ik^2)
i = number of study
k = number of treatment

I have practiced using the command from 'Mixed -Effects models in S and

That sounds nice!
This TIPS, CONFIG_HZ=100, is one of FAQs. It will make most of us happy.
Now we can get kernel-vm package on dev.centos.org.
Is it a test release of the special kernel?

NAT+portfw failure
I have the following forced up mew by evil telco problem:
- One IP
- Homebrew LAN
- portforwarding for some services.
- extra PPTP/ppp layer to an internal 10.* network which mutilates DNS
answers.
Setup:
Machine A has ip a.b.c.d (real IP) and is reachable over ADSL with it from
the world. It does NAT for an internal LAN 192.168.0.0/24) and has portforwading
turned on for some ports (eg 80)

Kickstart network settings problem
I would like one of my kickstart scripts to prompt for disk and
networking only. Commenting out the disk and network settings makes the
installer prompt for disk settings but not for network settings, they
default to DHCP. Any idea's how to fix this?
Thanks

One question about Opus encoder
Hi, Opus team
I'm Huang Hao and trouble you again.
When I used the OpusRepacketizer as Jean-Marc mentioned, I got a result (maybe problem I'm not sure) that perplexes me, please give me some comments.
The result be described as below:
First(all init which are needed I have done), I used opus_encode() to get the encoded data successfully. The encoder control parameters are set: VBR=0,

Unix password Sync
Ive just discovered that my previous email is wrong - the password sync
does in fact work under Solaris fine. What is happening however is that
when I create a new account, and call smbpasswd $user as root, it only
updates the SMB password and not the Unix password as well.
I though I could change my call to /bin/passwd in my new user creation
scrip with /usr/local/samba/bin/smbpasswd -a, but as

rails on emacs - need a working .emacs sample
I would like to hear from some one who has ecb, multiple modes with
ruby mode + html mode, rails mode all working together and playing
well.
I had ecb working with Ruby syntax highlighting. That was a no-brainer
since I just had to apt-get them on my Debian Sarge box.
It got a bit more comlex after I got most of the .el files in the articles

No nonodump...
I'm not sure where else to ask about this, so please excuse me if this is
the wrong forum. In trying to remove a 'nodump' flag on a directory with the
'chflags' command I have noticed that the 'nonodump' flag does not function.
I see an open PR for the problem:
o [2003/01/09] i386/46912 johan chflags nonodump fails
I was wondering when this might be dealt with? Else is
