how to make sip uri work
Lets say I have an * at my business, with 7960 SIP phones. All the sip
phones are registered using their extension number (like 305), but I would
also like to put my SIP URI on my business card and in a name format, not an
extension number (like lee.goodman), so that the SIP URI would read
lee.goodman@asterisk.company.com.
How would I set this up in extensions.conf?
I got

Announcing another R search engine
Hello all,
I wanted to announce a new R search engine I made that covers all the major
R mailing lists, CRAN, r-project.org, and more. Results are tabbed, so you
can refine the search. Current refinements include searching just the
mailing lists, searching just introductions, and searching the web for
source files ending in .R.
Please send comments and suggestions. If you want to add sites to

Goodman / Kruskal gamma
The Goodman/Kruskal gamma is a nice descriptive rank-order
correlation statistic, often used in psychology. It is nice
because it is easy to understand. It takes all pairs of values
of each variable and asks whether they are congruent (S+ is the
number in the same order for both variables) or discordant (S-,
opposite ranking). The statistic is (S+ - S-)/(S+ + S-). It is
like tau except for the

simultaneous confidence intervals for multinomial proportions: sample size
Hello!
I want to calculate simultaneous confidence intervals for a nominal variable with three categories: "yes", "no", "partially" and I expect that far more than 5 samples fall into each category.
I have read that Glaz & Sison's method is only appropriate for variables with 7 or more categories. Therefore, the Goodman method seems like a good idea.
I have

PRINT$ Problems
I have been trying to setup point and print on a debian testing box. I have
a HP5550 printer and am trying to install the drivers through the add
printer wizard, the drivers appeared to install fine. Afterwards I right
clicked on the printer and clicked connect, per the SAMBA howto, this also
appeared to work. When I tried to enter the properties screen of the local
printer or on the share I

Icecast/LiveIce Problems
I'm sorry, I meant RedHat 7.0 of course. That machine is running kernel
2.2.14-5.0.
I've tried the XMMS LiveIce plugin and XMMS cores as soon as it's
enabled.
Thanks for the info on buffering.

rcorr.cens Goodman-Kruskal gamma
Dear r-helpers!
I want to classify my vegetation data with hierachical cluster analysis.
My Dataset consist of Abundance-Values (Braun-Blanquet ordinal scale; ranked) for each plant species and relev?.
I found a lot of r-packages dealing with cluster analysis, but none of them is able to calculate a distance measure for ranked data.

Need info on Gastman/Astman
Has anyone used Gastman/Astman successfully?
I have it up and running (Gastman win32), but have a problem with the
creation of end stations on the map. I'm not sure of the format of the
extension to use when creating a end station icon.
Services like Conference bridge and Musichonhold seem to work ok (I use
555@mainmenu and 666@mainmenu) for the Icon extensions.
IAX softphone seems to work

Question on setting up MeetMe conference bridge
So I setup the MeetMe application in Asterisk
Assigned an extension to it.
When one of my SIP phone dials the conference extension, they get a message "you are the first one in the conference", so far so good.
When the 2nd SIP phone dials the conference extension, they get a busy signal
Now I know that you have to have a Zapta device to enable conference application. I have an X100P (1

Configs for IAX <> IAX trunk
Hello
I want to setup a IAX trunk between 2 asterisk servers. I also want to use
the switch command (I believe that will let the 2 asterisk servers share a
dialplan). Can someone share a set of config files (or just the appropriate
commands)?
Does each Asterisk have to register to the other Asterisk to make this work?
How does the authentication work (and is configured) between the 2 Asterisk

Icecast/LiveIce Problems
I'm having a couple problems trying to get Icecast and LiveIce set up on
a Linux 7.0 system.
I'm running Icecast 1.3.10 without a config file (using all defaults).
I can use shout to stream to it and connect to it from a windows machine
running WinAmp. It works OK except winamp stops every few seconds and
tells me that it's buffering. It buffers for a few seconds and then

using rcorr.cens for Goodman Kruskal gamma
Dear List,
I would like to calculate the Goodman-Kruskal gamma for the predicted
classes obtained from an ordinal regression model using lrm in the Design
package. I couldn't find a way to get gamma for predicted values in Design
so have found previous positings suggesting to use :
Rcorr.cens(x, S outx = TRUE) in the Hmisc package
My question is, will this work for predicted vs

Samba and NFS quota problem
Hello,
I am mounting via NFS a number of volumes and re-sharing these as CIFS.
We have been using this arrangement successfully for a number of years.
We are replacing the "CIFS>NFS" proxy servers (which are also PDC/BDCs
to OpenLDAP) and a weird problem seems to occur.
The problem is the quota/disk size appears to be wrong. For example, if

y-axis of lattice panels not printing to paper
Greetings,
I am printing lattice plots from the R-interface to a printer, and although the y-axes of the left-most panels are visable on the screen, they are not present on the paper when there are multiple panels (ie, >1).
For example:
trellis.device(bg='white')

Calculating Goodman-Kurskal's gamma using delta method
Dear list,
I have a problem on calculating the standard error of
Goodman-Kurskal's gamma using delta method. I exactly follow the
method and forumla described in Problem 3.27 of Alan Agresti's
Categorical Data Analysis (2nd edition). The data I used is also from
the job satisfaction vs. income example from that book.
job <- matrix(c(1, 3, 10, 6, 2, 3, 10, 7, 1, 6, 14, 12, 0, 1, 9,

Buffering in R 3.5 connections causes incorrect data in readChar
Tomas,
Thank you for the explanation. I see in the documentation: "These functions
are intended to be used with binary-mode connections." So I see how using
it on a text connection is undefined, and not a bug. An error or warning
when attempting to use a it on a text connection would be helpful
considering how the behavior has changed in R-3.5.
