remove my email address
I am starting to receive a lot of unsolicited email at work. I did a web search on my name to see if my email address is accessible on any web sites. I got a hit on this site http://samba.cadcamlab.org/lists/samba/Dec2000/00720.html which is a message I sent to your list server a couple of years ago. Please remove my email address from the web page. Thanks. Lloyd Baldwin Computer Systems

high context switching and high load averages slowing down system
Hi All, I have a HP DL 580 with 4 3 GHz CPUs and 4 GB RAM. I'm running Oracle on it. Throughout the day I am getting high load averages (6 - 18) and at the same time I see context switching go over 300,000. Sometimes over 500,000. This is slowing the system down to a crawl. My OS is RHEL 3 AS Update 4 with the 2.4.21-32.0.1.ELsmp kernel. Any ideas on why this is happening and how to fix

Limiting to Windows domain groups
I am new to samba and I wasn't sure that I understood something correctly. I can use the "invalid users" setting to limit users to a group but can I use windows groups in this setting and if so how do I reference them. I see how to do linux groups and nis groups but I didn't see for windows. Thank you for any help. Jason Lehman Webmaster, Registrar's Office

I get authenicated but I can't get to share
I see in the log where I get authenticated but it won't let me have access to the share from Windows XP to linux box. If I set up the server without domain auth on samba and setup a matching account on the linux box I have no problems accessing. But we want to use domain auth. So then if I setup domain auth I can get authenticated in fact I can login to the linux box with my windows username

Incoming SIP and the 's' extension
Hello, all. My apologies up front but I must be brain cramping on something very simple. I've tried to pare down my configuration to the absolute minimum for SIP traffic just to understand how it works. My incoming calls are not finding the "s" extension in my dial-plan. I am assuming SIP calls can do this. I am using Asterisk 1.6.1.1 sip.conf has nothing but: [general]

I''m using a cluster of three Mongrels. I have an existing app which allows users to upload files, and I''m migrating it to Mongrel from Lighttpd. Uploading files via multipart forms

Intermittent failure to automatically include all models
I have two models in my rails app that inherit from ValidatingBase instead of ActiveRecord. I didn''t start having this issue until I switched to Planet Argon, running lighttpd, but I''ve started to get errors where one or the other models doesn''t get included and I get an "uninitialized constant ModelName" error. The weirdest thing is that when I restart

smbfs intermittent errors: tdb_lock failed, ERRDOS 71

tinc detects itself on the VPN due to intermittent connection problems, and dies
A relatively recent update (1-2 months) has introduced a fairly major issue where connection issues seem to cause tinc to decide that there's another node of the same name on the VPN, leading to it quitting. It seems that it's detecting itself somehow, through an older connection, perhaps? The daemon stopping itself is a major problem, though, as it has to be manually restarted. I would

intermittent failure with "Authentication response too long"
Dear OpenSSH gurus, I have recently (yesterday) upgraded my machine running Red Hat Linux 6.1 with all of the binary rpms generated from the source rpms openssh-2.2.0p1-2.src.rpm and openssl-0.9.5a-3.src.rpm. Since the upgrade, I have been experiencing intermittent failures. The failures are always accompanied by this error message: response: Authentication response too long: 1433299822

Intermittent Incomplete Headers error
I did a quick search on google for others having this problem, and only found people having the problem 100% of the time. For me, it only comes up very rarely (probably once in every 100 page views) which is making it a pain to track down. Any ideas? Intermittent 404 errors when developing in webrick
I''ve got an issue and I think it''s webrick related. I''m loading images dynamically, from a database. I''ve got an Image controller with a "show" action that takes an id as a parameter. The problem is that images sometimes come up broken when loading more than one on the same html page. I think this is because my browser tries to load them simultaneously

dom0 network interface intermittent
I have a server with dual etherports, eth0 and eth1. Before starting xend, I can connect to the server (dom0) on both IP''s.
