Hardware Platform Recommendations for Digium Card Compatability
Hi there, Could everyone that has a working production Asterisk server that uses a Digium telephony card as a BRI/PRI gateway let me know what motherboard/processor your server uses? We use a Digium TE210P as our telephony card. We have tried a couple motherboards, and neither is giving us satisfactory zttest scores. The machine we have in production right now is a Biostar U8668-D (VIA

SIP/Console -> ISDN ticks
I am experiencing audio ticks when doing calls from SIP or console to ISDN. Calls. Everything appears fine when doing ISDN->ISDN or SIP->SIP. Console calls results in 5-8 ticks a second, SIP calls are dependent on buffer size - 16ms are 1 tick a second, 8ms are 2-3 ticks a second. I recently moved the ISDN board and software to an upgraded PC with the exact same software configuration -

dahdi timing
Hi, We heavily use meetme/SLA functionality in Asterisk, and continuously run into issues with dahdi timing. The two errors we get are: ERROR[6518] res_timing_dahdi.c: Failed to configure DAHDI timing fd for 0 sample timer ticks WARNING[22024] app_meetme.c: Unable to write frame to channel Right now, dahdi in our setup uses the software timer (with res_timing_dahdi.so which gives much better

nlme problems
I'm maximising a reasonably complex function using nlme (version 3.1-65, have also tried 3.1-66) and am having trouble with fixed parameter estimates slightly away from the maximum of the log likelihood. I have profiled the log likelihood and it is a parabola but with sum dips. Interestingly changing the parameterisation moves the dips around slightly. Unfortunately the PNLS step is

search path for attaching packages
Several of us locally are puzzling over the following problem: We have a central repository of R packages on our linux system. Occasionally, we'd like to install a different version of the same package (such as making updates to the survival package before it is released to the larger group, or a downloaded beta version). When using the library function, it appears that lib.loc is not

ARP resolution not done from one end
Folks, We have a setup where each mobile node connects with 1 or more tinc instances (over different links) to a central node. tinc is running in switch mode. The link is chosen by setting the IP address on the active link's interface, and the central node sees this after the first packet on the link, and moves the MAC address to a different 'ethernet port' (link). This works really

postscript image problem (PR#6763)
Full_Name: Jonathan Lees Version: 1.8.1 OS: GNU/Linux 2.4.20-20.8smp #1 SMP Submission from: (NULL) (152.2.75.114) I am having trouble with the postscript output of images. They have lines on them that are not supposed to be there. I have noticed this on numerous trials of printing various images. I looked at the postscript and I see that it appears to plot each individual block - so perhaps

Exceeding 200 client connections - samba 3.5.4 and squid
Hi, We have a central pair of squid proxy servers running Samba Version 3.5.4-0.83.el5_7.2, on CentOS 5.4, which are using NTLM authentication for a number of trusted domains over WAN connections (all 100Mbit fibre links, so shouldn't be considered slow). Recently we've noticed that the winbind connections are exceeding the default 200, as below, [2013/04/16 10:19:15.510056, 0]

timeout problems with 2.2.8a
Last year the samba servers for our Georgia Tech computer clusters were crashing about once a day running samba 2.0.7. Upgrading to 2.2.5 was disastrous - the Windows machines in the cluster started giving chronic bad-password errors. Since daily crashes seemed an easier problem to fix, we dug in and fixed the 2.0.9 source code. (Our patch is attached, for those interested in running 2.0.9

Windows 98® and Linux/Samba
Hello, I should explain that although I'm a home user I have worked in tech support for an Internet Service Provider here in England. Over the past few weeks I have had an e-mail discussion over the internet with various groups of people who are to do with Linux and Samba. One of the more confusing issues is that "does win 98 need a encrypted password for use with

Allow direct connection between some (but not all) nodes on the network
I'm using tinc 1.1pre14 to establish a VPN between 10 servers and a few administration clients. I have a central server that runs Tinc and all other servers and clients connect to it. I need the to be able to establish a direct connection between the administration clients and the servers, but block the server between each other. I couldn't find a way to do this with tinc, but meantime

Fw: Digium FXO Interfaces don't support groundstart???
A thought occurred to me to on how to further quantify the impact of "glare" on a properly dimensioned trunk group and debunk the ground start glare concern. A cursory traffic analysis clarifies: 1. Assume you have a two-way trunk group, dimensioned for average busy hour, average busy season for P01 grade of service, Erlang B or Poison distribution. 2. Further assume that the

Mysterious connection disappearances
I installed a samba server about a week ago for a client and have been having some trouble with it. The two problems that occur are: 1. The "Microsoft mail postoffice" occasionally has files with deny_all locks on them that prevent other users from sending email to the user. My first impression was that this was an Outlook issue, but rebooting the entire (client) computer does not
