File corruptions with rsync version 2.6.9 on 64-bit openSUSE 10.3
Hi,
I'm part of the team that runs the Bioconductor project
http://bioconductor.org/
and we've used rsync successfully so far for a lot of different
things in particular for moving the hundreds of packages that we build
and check every day thru our build system pipe (which is made of several
build nodes running different OSes, see our daily build report here:

But on domain members this directive fails.
I have checked log and see this error.

Samba domain users VS "rogue" NT servers.
Hi All,
We're having some problems using Samba and supposedly "standalone"
rogue NT servers on one of our network domains.
When an authenticated samba-served NT domain user on a client machine
tries to access a share on a non BDC/PDC NT server that it part of
the same samba domain, the standalone NT server sends it a message
saying "Your logon time at NTDOMAIN has

Hi Rowland,
Yes, thats done, the domain user exist on both servers in local sudo group.
But why do i see much more groups on the ADDC, and even groups where this user is NOT member of, like 3000005(NTDOMAIN\denied rodc password replication group).
See .. 2x
3000005(NTDOMAIN\denied rodc password replication group

Ok mathias,
Can you explain this.

Why is this output so different, and i dont mean the difference with NTDOMAIN\..
See the groups differences... between a ADDC and a member server..

Error looking up domain users
Hello, I'm trying to query one of my remote domains for users via
"wbinfo -u --domain=EUROPE" and receiving "Error looking up domain
users". I have been successfully able to look up users in multiple
domains i.e. "wbinfo -u --domain=UK". My current domain is called
NTDOMAIN in which I have my Ubuntu Dapper (6.06) box, running winbind

Dont we need idmap config in the smb.conf also, or is above not used anymore, if so the we must change the wiki.

BUG? 'valid users' doesn't allow groups from trusted domains
It appears that you cannot include groups from trusted domains in the
'valid users =' directive on a share.
Here is the scenario as I experienced it (names have been changed to
protect the innocent):
Configuration:
- Samba 3.0.21b as a member server in a real NT4 domain (security =
domain) called 'NTDOMAIN'
- NTDOMAIN has a two-way trust with Windows 2003 Active Directory

Performance Samba 2.0.6 / FreeBSD 3.4 vs NT and NetWare
I'm getting samba setup, and it seems to be working. I have PDC/BackupPDC
issues to resolve, and want to change things so the NT PDC authenticates
users instead of setting them up using smbpasswd. Right now, I can access
the samba box from Win98 and WinNT workstation with "manually setup"
smbpasswd's.
I have been testing performance and am a little disappointed, I hoped samba

by birds is influenced by a pollution gradient, using distance and
vegetation structural and composition variables, but I got the following
error message:
