Installation/configuration problems
I've just installed samba 2.0.6 on our HPUX 11.0 system and am having
problems getting it to work. Any help would be appreciated.
I'm trying to use "security = DOMAIN". Our PDC/BDC are NT 4.0 SP6. The
workstation I'm trying to connect from is NT 4.0 SP4.
The HP machine shows up in the network neighborhood but appears to have
no shares available. smbd/nmbd are running. I

CentOS 7 as a Fibre Channel SAN Target
In waiting, I tried CentOS 8 which was an even bigger bust. I wiped that clean and tried again with Fedora 31. Same darn error "Could not create Target in configFS".
Anyone??

NT Password - I'm still stuck
Hi all,
I have at home a Sun IPC running Solaris 2.6 and Samba 1_9_18p8. The Sun is on a network of just
two computers - the other computer being a PC running NT4, with service pack 3. The samba works fine on the
unix machine (Sun).

I've still got a couple of NT domains and I'd like to upgrade them to
AD. In these days I had a chance to try to migrate one of them, but I
ran into troubles and had to go back. I don't know when I'll have the
chance to try again (probably not before some months), but I need to
understand what went wrong before that.

some samba security questions
Hello, I'm running samba on a redhat linux 7.3 server in order to share
files to a mixed linux/windows local network without a domain controler,
all clients are configured to do local authentication and this
usernames/passwords are the same as on the linux server.
I'd like to restrict access to some directories inside samba shares for

Samba 3.4.7 can't retrieve idmap infor from ldap
I am running Samba 3.4.7on Fedora Core 11 Linux. This is a domain member.
My PDC is Samba 3.4.9 on Solaris 10. I have LDAP as a backend
(Sun/Oracle Directory Server 6.) I have an OU for user accounts, and
an OU for idmap entries. The PDC has already populated some idmap entries.
An idmap entry looks like

weird network interface name
Hi list,
i have a problem in one of my centos boxes. I installed CentOS 4.3. I addedd
additionl interface card in this server and when i execute ifconfig command
i see devNNN(where n is a random number). And when i restart the server the
NNNN always change.

(Small) problem with barchart

Rsync crash
Hello,
I'm using an rsync server on a Linux packages repository (deb packages)
to sync all mirrors.
The mirrors sync every 10 minutes. Most of the time, there is nothing to
sync, except a timestamp file, so the sync is pretty fast.
Anyway, after it has been working well for some time (between 2 and
24hours), the rsync daemon crashes. It is still running but seems to
retry something

Having problems with BLF
Hi,
I'm having a problem getting a snom 300 to work with BLF (extension
222). I've set it to watch extension 220 in the function key config
pages as per the wiki (BLF, <sip:220 at server.com>) but I can't get the
light to come on when 220 is ringing. The SIP trace page doesn't show
anything coming from my PBX when 220 is ringing or in use. Any help
much appreciated as this

[PATCH] Add support for Liebert PowerSure PSA to liebert-hid.c
This patch adds support for the following ups to liebert-hid.c:

unexpected subfolder locaton in Maildir/.INBOX.subfolder
Hallo,
I try to migrate existing imap server to dovecot 1.2 in debian squeeze
if I connect to imap://user at host/INBOX
Inbox works as expected and I get the content of
Maildir/{cur,new,tmp}
Maildir/.subfolder already exists
if I connect to imap://user at host/INBOX.subfolder
I get "folder not found"
if I do a imap directory listing (raw mutt config, no subscriptions)

Asterisk - SPA-3000, 407 error
I recently lost my setup (bad drive) and I'm now trying to get my setup
back. I have Asterisk setup to a BT100, a Cisco 7960 (7.2 SIP) and an
SPA-3000. I can call the phone extension, I can call from the phone on
the SPA to other extensions and I can call out to the PSTN. What I can't
do is to call from the PSTN to through the SPA to Asterisk. It rings
twice then I get fast busy. I

Issue with adding machines to domain
Okay, here's the situtation I have a samba server (2.2.3a) which is the
PDC for a domain with approximately 60 windows 2000 clients.
Up until recently I haven't had any problems with using it for roaming
profiles and domain authentication, however since last thursday I have
not been able to successfully create machine account that would work.

darkice slow stream
Hi,
I am trying to set up a stream from my computer. I have set up Icecast,
and it seems to be working. My OS is Redhat Enterprise Linux 3 and my
soundcard is a SB Audigy SE working with Alsa.
