NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED??
I installed Samba2.0.7 on my FreeBSD 4.1 box and joined an NT domain.
It worked perfect until I changed the hostname today. I found that I couldn't
chage the machine password if hostname length is 15. The precedure I
do is
1. stop samba
2. change hostname to "abcde1234567890"
3. run smbpasswd -j DOM -r DomControl, then I get the following error
message.

Can't Apply Group ACL
Thanks Samba Team to support the ACL functionality. It is a very cool feature.
I just replaced my Samba2.0.7 version to Samba2.2.4 and tried to test ACL function. User setting is perfect. But when I try to add a group from [Select Users, Computers, or Groups] dialog, and press [Ok]. It displays [Unable to lookup username for display]. Do I miss anything? Or current Samba version not support the

evaluation of discriminant functions+multivariate homosce dasticity
While I don't know anything about Box's M test, I googled around and found a
Matlab M-file that computes it. Below is my straight-forward translation of
the code, without knowing Matlab or the formula (and done in a few minutes).
I hope this demonstrates one of Prof. Ripley's point: If you really want to
shoot yourself in the foot, you can probably program R to do that for you.

I just download SAMBA 2.0.7 from
http://samba.gorski.net/samba/ftp/Binary_Packages/redhat/
and I have already installed SAMBA 2.0.6 which come
with my red head linux 6.2 CD. But the 2.0.7 SAMBA is
conflict with SAMBA 2.0.6. and it will not allow me
to install the latest version of SAMBA. It gives me
error messages while I am trying to install samba2.0.7

Answering Machine Detection
I am having a bit of a problem getting AMD to work on a new server. On
my regular office server it works like a charm. I am running Asterisk
1.4.13, Zaptel 1.4.5.1 on both machines. Both servers run CentOS 5 and
I am using a SIP trunk to send out calls (the same one on both servers).
Here is the output of a call on my office server:

Per-directory "create mask"?
Hi all
Please CC me any replies.
I am currently running samba 2.2.8a under Slackware 8.1 (kernel 2.4.18) to
provide fileserver services to a number of windows 2000 boxes via a single
"resources" share. One of the things stored in this share is a collection
of Protel libraries used in electronic circuit design.
The problem is that protel implements its own access control mechanism for

Answering Machine Detection
If i use AMD() or the code below, now the problem is the fax machine/modem detection and answer machine detection get detected as the same. If i need to seperate the two how do i do that? For example, if i use AMD() to detect an answer machine by saying any greeting exceeding 2.5 seconds is a machine, how do i distinguish between a fax/modem and a long greeting?

Protel 99SE and SolidWorks 2001
Hi, all.
I am nearly free of Windoze...there are only two apps that I (absolutely!)
need to run, Protel 99SE and SolidWorks 2001.
Has anyone had any success installing or running these programs under Wine?
I have not been able to get past the install stage. Unfortunately, as soon
as the install begins, I get an error something like, "tried to access
address 0x00000000." I don't
