Problems with server=domain
I compiled samba 2.0.2 on a intel RedHat 5.2 machine successfully. I then
set
up the machine according to the DOMAIN_MEMBER.html instructions to join my
domain. Everything seemed ok so far, i got the message:
change_trust_account_password: Changed password for domain INFO.
smbpasswd: Joined domain INFO
So far OK, right.
I set up the smb.conf like this. The options in Global that are commented

question on gps.prof in ismev
Dear all,
I'm trying to produce a log-likelihood profile for a GPD estimate with
the ismev package. When following the examples, everything is working
fine, i.e. I get a nice parabolic log-likelihood curve. When using my
own data (intensity of hurricanes at landfall), the log-likelihood curve
looks like a step function. Am I doing something wrong here? Is my data
not suited for the GPD fit?

Map of British Colonial America 1775
Does anyone have suggestions about how to produce a map of British
Colonial America 1775? At that time, Great Britain had 26 colonies in
the Americas, including Bermuda, several Caribbean islands, "Quebec"
(extending then almost to New Orleans), Nova Scotia, Newfoundland,
Belize, and the 13 that declared independence in 1776.
I've reviewed the "map"

Timeout for Queue
Hello,
We had an incident recently where a call was in queue for an extended period of time. We use queuemetrics for reporting, and it reports that the call was waiting for 20 minutes. The different thing about it is that the disconnect reason is stated as Timeout. Is there a set maximum time a call will wait in the queue before being automatically disconnected? I tried looking through the code

Goto Question
Hello,
I'm running three asterisk boxes, spread across three different countries. One of the offices is running Asterisk 1.2.18 on the Druid Telephony Platform(not my choice, has been in before I started and haven't had the time to remove it).
My situation I have is based on the contexts already in place, particularly for outbound calls, I need to do a Goto sending the call back into the

country/city codes
Some country codes are three digits long. Some are two.
e.g. UK 44 , Bermuda 441
Does anyone know a formula for determining which part of a dialled number is the country code and city code ?

plotting Principle components vs individual variables.
Dear R,
I'm trying to plot the first principle component of an analysis vs the first
variable but am having trouble. I have no trouble doing the initial plot
but have difficulty thereafter.
First I want to highlight some points of the following data set

constructing a dataframe from a database of newspaper articles
I am hoping for some assistance with formatting a large text file which
consists of a series of individual records. Each record includes specific
labels/field names (a sample of 1 record (one of the longest ones) is
below - at end of post. What I want to do is reformat the data, so that
each individual record becomes a row (some cells will have a lot of text).
For example, the column

UK Encryption ban legislation {from: [comp.risks] RISKS DIGEST 18.95}
I think this is an issue of serious interest to many of the subscribers
of these lists; it would effectively ban a lot of security-related tools
that many of use now find indispensable, e.g. ssh, pgp.

At the cost of breaking the thread I'm going to change your subject and
replace 'Principle' by 'Principal'. I just can't stand it any longer...

"Fixing the Caller-ID Problem", by John Todd for O'ReillyNet
This seems like a piece members of this list would find interesting...
===
There is growing concern over the interaction of VoIP systems
with the legacy PSTN, and the transmission of caller identity
data--most notably, Caller ID on the PSTN. It is not always
possible, or obvious how, to handle Caller ID data when moving
to or from VoIP and the PSTN networks. There are even business

Voxbone Question
Hi List,
I recently signed up with Voxbone to get some International DIDs. I
was just about to purchase a DID this morning... but when I went to
get it.... voxbone wanted the end user's address information. So I
started to put it in... unfortunately... the end-user is in the
U.S....but the only options are for a few select cities in GERMANY!
I don't understand. Is there some

Angstrom Symbol on Y-axis ?
Hi,
I have started very recently with R in order to get excellent Box and
Whisker plots. I could plot my data nicely. However, I can't figure
out from R-mailing list archive or google search either, how to place
an Angstrom sign/symbol on the y-axis (any axis in principle), after a
usual y-axis label ?
I am doing something like this:
