[RFC] dereferenceable metadata
Hi,
While working on PR21780, I used "dereferenceable_or_null" metadata
and I realized now that it is not correct for my solution to use this
metadata type since it might point to an address that it is not
dereferenceable but null. I think that we need another new metadata
type, something like "dereferenceable" with that we could annotate
any load (not just pointer type like

Error trying to compile 2.6.0 on Solaris 9 Sparc with gcc 3.2
Hi.
I'm trying to compile rsync 2.6.0 on Solaris 9 Sparc, using gcc 3.2.
The configure script seems to run with no problem.
But when I go ahead to make, I get the following error output:

[RFC] dereferenceable metadata
Indeed. But the problem here is that Dinar is trying to keep information
after a load/store is removed by instcombine
For example:
v4sf v = {p[0], p[1], p[2], p[3]};
v4sf v2 = shuffle(v, 0, 0, 2, 2);
Some pass comes in and removes the p[3] and p[1].
Now you have smaller code, but lost the ability to use a vector load for
all those values + shuffle. The code got scalarized because we lost the

[PATCH v2] vdpa/mlx5: Fix firmware error on creation of 1k VQs
A firmware error is triggered when configuring a 9k MTU on the PF after
switching to switchdev mode and then using a vdpa device with larger
(1k) rings:
mlx5_cmd_out_err: CREATE_GENERAL_OBJECT(0xa00) op_mod(0xd) failed, status bad resource(0x5), syndrome (0xf6db90), err(-22)
This is due to the fact that the hw VQ size parameters are computed
based on the umem_1/2/3_buffer_param_a/b capabilities

[RFC PATCH 0/9] vhost-nvme: new qemu nvme backend using nvme target
Hi,
This is the first attempt to add a new qemu nvme backend using
in-kernel nvme target.
Most code are ported from qemu-nvme and also borrow code from
Hannes Reinecke's rts-megasas.
It's similar as vhost-scsi, but doesn't use virtio.
The advantage is guest can run unmodified NVMe driver.
So guest can be any OS that has a NVMe driver.
The goal is to get as good performance as

doc/lit ws consumption
I am new to ruby and rails. I am having trouble consuming a java web
service with the soap/wsdlDriver library.
My java web service, FooService, has one method, search(String).
I am sending the data from a form to this method in my controller:
def search
searchTerm = params[:searchTerm]
factory = SOAP::WSDLDriverFactory.new("http://localhost:8080/services/FooService?wsdl")

REST / WS adapter for Rails
Is anyone building an adapter that would enable a Rails
application to interface to a REST or SOAP web API?
It would enable a Rails app to consume REST or SOAP
via a model. Or is not worth the effort because web
services are so different from databases, even though
they are typically data sources?
Please reply to richardc@ASO.com.

Rails 0.10.1: FCGI stability, WS generator, tons of fixes
This is the point release to tie up the various loose ends introduced
with Rails 0.10.0. Action Web Service has seen the most interesting
improvements feature-wise with a new generator and tie-ins with the
testing setup. There''s better support for XML-RPC: Instead of
performing type checking on the parameters the remote client sends, AWS
does casting to try and make it compatible

ls says: /tank/ws/fubar: Operation not applicable
Anyone know why my ZFS filesystem might suddenly start
giving me an error when I try to "ls -d" the top of it?
i.e.: ls -d /tank/ws/fubar
/tank/ws/fubar: Operation not applicable
zpool status says all is well. I''ve tried snv_139 and snv_137
(my latest and previous installs). It''s an amd64 box.
Both OS versions show the same problem.
Do I need to run a scrub? (will

SSOAP access to a j2EE-ws service
I am currently trying to access a SOAP web service (hosted on a JBoss5
server and defined as a J2EE-ws service) via the SSOAP R-package. But
all I can get is a NULL answer. The web service seems to work as it can
be accessed using a general web-service tester.
The web service wsdl is here: http://smg8.ulb.ac.be:8080/web2?wsdl.
This is how I try to call the web service from R:

Building 1.1.23 on Red Hat WS 4.6 fails
As title, I'm having problems bulding it. The app I want to use doesn't work properly in 1.0.1 (tested in Ubuntu 9.04 and RH WS 4.6) but does in 1.1.23 (tested on Ubuntu 9.04).
Our production system runs RH WS 4.6, but there's no RPM package for 1.1.23 so I am trying to build it myself. The configuration and make depend work ok, however when I make, it builds a good chunk of stuff
