HELP with browsing and popups (Cont: Get popups)
I've got plenty of messages about "message command". Please don't talk me about
"message command". I have "message command" in my smb.conf. It seems to be
another problem: I can browse all groups in local network but anyone can't
find me in "Network neighboorhood" in Widows 9x.
I can receive popups only from boxes with samba (Linux boxes) and

Printer name is invalid
The mailing list archives mention this as a problem, but I
didn't see any specific steps given to fix it:
We have Samba running on four servers - two at Samba version
1.9.18.p10 and two at 2.0.3.
One of the 2.0.3 servers is on Solaris 2.7, 3/99 update. It
has an smb.conf file essentially identical to that of the
other 2.0.3 system, but it's impossible to add a printer on
this system to

Samba Weird One
Hello all!
I have a strange one that I really need help with: I have samba p8 running
on SCO Unix openserver 5.0.4. The rest of our network is Windows 95/NT 4.0
with our domain called 'SABINMETAL'. One of the NT workstations (named HELM
with a user called steve) was working, but now it is doing the following:
if steve logs onto the SABINMETAL domain, he cannot get to the Unix server

samba interferes with NT server
I have an NT4 server as PDC for a domain: WG. Domain members (on 3
subnets) can either log into the domain, or at least access shares from
the network neighboorhood if they don't want to log on. When I boot a
samba server as a workgroup member (I don't log it into the domain)
everything runs fine for about 24 hours; domain or WG members can access
shares on any machine including the

Win2k bringing down SMB
We have a small LAN here with NT4/98 clients. I reformated an NT machine and
poped win2k on it, but as soon as I try to access the network, it takes
over. It can access the samba server fine, but none of the 98/NT machines
can see anything.
Tried originally with 2.0.7-pre4, then i installed 2.0.7 final and
experianced the same problem. Win2k has but to touch the network
neighboorhood to wreck

Ugh, Does Interfaces not work?
I'm a college student, but I also have an private network behind my
firewall at college, and I have an ipsec tunnel to my office. I had to
recently use the printer port on my firewall, so I ended up installing
samba, and told it only to talk to my office network. Well, it managed to
pick up the browser list..... and it got ahold of a local browser role as
soon as it came up because I have a

Two samba's not playing together
Hi,
I just tried to migrate my NT-PDC to samba-3.0.20b. Everything worked
fine except for a problem with my old file-server running samba-2.2.5
with winbind.
I can connect to and use shares on the new PDC and I can manage users
and groups. But when I try to connect to the file-server I'm refused access.
When I prepared this mail, I remarked that in smb.conf I somehow deleted

Confusing errors when attempting to run samba in AD DC mode
Hey All,
I don't know what's wrong, or what I may have done wrong, but I THOUGHT I followed all the correct steps to setup samba, and it's not working. Here's what I did:
D/L latest samba code (4.13.1) & extract
install dependencies
./configure --prefix=/usr/local --enable-fhs
(enable-fhs was required to get configure to run through completely)
make
make install
cp

live migration causes guest system to crash when accessing the network
Hi all,
we've been using libvirt/KVM ever since it was included in Ubuntu 10.04
LTS. At first, it wasn't possible to do live block migrations. We got
used to that.
And now block migration has been possible since Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. And
we're excited.
There's just one hitch:
Many of migrations have the result that the system is successfully
migrated, but will no longer run.

No subject
is turned on. Can anybody
kind to confirm with me?
Our network is using a mix of Win2k server, Win2k Pro, Win98, Win95 and
WinMe machines, where the
Win2k server is the domain controller and terminal service applications
server and the Samba is a member
fileserver of the domain. All workstations logon and mount the samba file
services.
We'd like to check if the problem could be solved by
