Test Failure for RW1 with samba-3.0.30, Solaris 9
I'm trying to build and install Samba 3.0.30 on a Solaris 9 SPARC machine. When I do a "make test", the RW1 test is failing. If I go back and configure and build 3.0.28 with the same settings, and do a make test, everything passes. Here's what I'm seeing with 3.0.30: ---8<--- Testing RW1 (0) TEST OUTPUT: host=127.0.0.2 share=tmp user=root myname=cannes Running RW1

smpassswd unable to join domain.
Hello, I have been trying for 3 days now to get smbpasswd to join my existing NT 4.0 domain, without success. The command I run is "smbpasswd -j CCH -r chrivdc01 -U knoxth" (yes, userid knoxth has Administrative access). No luck. I've included the output of adding -D 3 to the options line. Can anyone help me figure out what is happening?? Thanks! Tom ----- Forwarded by Thomas

Full Screen in Dual Monitor setup.
This question is related to Centos 6.4 running on workstations with dual monitors attached using Nvidia drivers, twinview mode. We've gotten stuck on a window manager specific issue with getting 'vncviewer' (tigervnc) to go full screen to both monitors. If Gnome is the window manager, we have no issues. Hitting "F8" in vncviewer and selecting "full screen"

Autoinstall printer drivers to windows clients
Is this a suitable place to post this question? I'm using Samba and CUPS to provide printer servcies within my Win95/Win98/Linux LAN It works great except for my one printer that isn't supported under Linux I just can't seem to get Samba set up to provide printer drivers to the windows machines - I've been using the windows drivers sent with the printers I followed the

libsmbclient question
Hi Jeremy, It's now clear. We'll do a short term workaround somehow. I created the bug. https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11295 Thanks for the useful reply. smbclient and large file support
smbclient (and smbtar) in version 2.2.7a (and prior) has problems with large files (> 4GB). The following patch (against 2.2.7a) fixes all known problems with this. This code has been checked into the CVS tree in all branches as well. -- ====================================================================== Herb Lewis Silicon Graphics Networking Engineer

cupsaddsmb rpcclient error
I am running samba 2.2.6 and cups 1.1.16. I can't get cupsaddsmb to complete successfully. I'm at an end here, I can't think of anything else to try after 2 weeks of searching the web. It copies the drivers to the print$ share directory, however the SetPrinter command fails on the rpcclient command and it returns with an NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL error. At the SetPrinter failure, it

Samba 2.0.7pre4
Dear Sirs: I wish to report my experience with the package. I have compiled and used Samba 2.0.7pre 2, pre3, and pre4. I have not had any trouble connecting to Samba's shares (from an NT client), but I would like to report a problem with SMBFS and SMBMOUNT. NT4, SP5 shares mounted into the filespace of the Linux box can disconnect over time with two possible outcomes. The activity is

Samba 2.0.7pre4 Problem
Hi, I've just compiled 2.0.7pre4 on my FreeBSD 3.4 machine and everything but SWAT seems to be working right. When I go to http://mymachine:901 the username dialog box comes up, but when I enter the correct username & password swat says that it isn't correct. When I compiled it I used configure --with-pam. Thank you for any help.

libsmbclient question
Dear Gents, We are using libsmbclient smbc_getFunctionRead to read from a Microsoft DFS share. Before each 64k read there are a QUERY_PATH_INFO and a GET_DFS_REFERRAL which slow down the transmission. Is there a way to query these only once at the beginning of the transmission and cache it? system: 3.16.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.7-ckt9-3~deb8u1 (2015-04-24) x86_64 GNU/Linux lib:

Please assist with Winbind issues!
Hello, I've been trying for a couple of weeks now to get Samba to authenticate via Winbind to an NT domain. I've scoured Google and the mailing lists to no avail. I've tried various configurations that I've found during my searches, but none of them have worked for me. I need to be able to authenticate users, that do not have an account on the Linux box, against the NT domain,
