Credentials Error
Hi folks. I've set up several shares on our Unix host 'Geddon' which have all been working fine. The shares have all had the same valid user who I set-up using smbpasswd. I then set-up a second user (devsrc) in smbpasswd and made the new user the sole valid user of one of the shares (data1). Whenever I try to access this share the following Windows NT error occurs. I was wondering

STOP THIS DIGEST EMAIL.
I have tried in vain to address the Samba List Processor, and get these 'Samba Digest' messages stopped. I followed your procedure exactly, several times, to NO avail. Please contact your systems admin for me and have them STOP THIS DIGEST EMAIL. Also let them know the supposed 'automated' procedure for stopping it does not work. Thanks Systems Administrator Christian Medical

R installation problems on Linux Mint 18.1 via jessie-cran3
Is there a reason for jessie-cran3 rather than xenial? For Linux Mint 18 (admittedly not 18.1) I have deb https://cloud.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu xenial/ as one of the apt entries. Very very very cool. I have been thinking of this one myself. I thought I tested it and that I came to the conclusion that Samba did not recognize named pipes, and just treated them like normal files (overwriting them when you drag a text file onto them). But I must have made a mistake somewhere. It' perfect. The way I will set it up is like this: a Progress program will sit on a named

Okay folks, I give up and - frankly - I'm fed up! I thought I'd sorted all this last week, but clearly not. I've tried using mirrors from here in the UK, Ireland, France and the USA and whichever mirror I use, all I get is this: clive at climate ~ $ sudo apt-get update Hit:1 http://ubuntu.mirrors.uk2.net/ubuntu xenial InRelease Ign:2 http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb stable
