Max Buffer Size vs Max Raw Buffer question...1GB tuning questions
I've been attempting to tune my samba server and workstations to work efficiently on a 1GB lan. So far I've increased the MTU on both the workstation and linux server to 9000. Then on the windows xp workstation, I've added these registry keys and rebooted: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters] "TcpWindowSize"=dword:3FFFF700

Win2K/XP, oplocks, and readahead.
Hi! I'm working with Samba backed by a high performance filesystem. From a Windows 2K and Windows XP client I'm trying to achieve very high speed single file throughput over GigE from the Windows client using either open/write or CreateFile/ReadFile APIs. I'd rather not venture into overlapped IO there so that we don't have to recommend that all our customers rewrite their

RC1 problem? (Conversation over two IAX2 streams = nasty, gappy audio)
I've been having 'gappy' audio problems with nufone for about a week now but I think I've nailed it down. Setup: office* - iax2 - colo* - iax2 - nufone office* and colo* are identical physical hardware (Xeon 2.8, dual ethernet, solely used for Asterisk) -- they are joined together through their second ethernet ports over a dedicated 2meg SDSL link. One hop between office* and

FWDout credits sharing
This post is a FWDout specific one, but may be of interest for many Asterisk users and may even make more of them use FWDout for the good of everyone :) On the one hand, I have seen many reports of people using the FWDout (http://www.fwdout.net/) service who don't get credits because the prefix they provide calls for to is not popular. On the other hand, I get plenty of unused credits, much

Sortable list with Ajax and delete function - working example
Hi. I read most of the postings here but unfortunately I didin''t found a complete example which could be used. Of cource the ones who are professionals in javascript could implement the missing peaces from the puzzle. What I''m required to do is a tree (sortable list) where items can also be deleted and at each modification a function (ajax) is called to save the changes. For

Smbclient fails to connect
Hi, I've recently upgrade to Samba 1.9.17p1 from 1.9.16p11 (for Solaris 2.5), but have now found that smbclient fails to connect to user shares on win95 machines. I've tried the same login account from a win95 account and am able to mount shares from other win 95 machines. I've also tried running the old smbclient binary with the new smbd & nmbd daemons, and that lets me log

Codec negociation
If you don't want to proxy the media through * the put this setting: canreinvite=yes this will allow the 2 end points to connect directly for the RTP bypassing you. otherwise I have noticed the same when I try to proxy I have to make sure everyone is using the same codec or it doesn't work well. .o-------------------------------------------------------o. Update ezstream playlist 'on the fly'
Hi, I'm using ezstream to stream a list of mp3 files to my icecast2 server which works great. I'm using a m3u playlist file which ezstream reads when it starts and rereads when it loops. The problem is that this playlist is quite long and I would like to be able to inject a song last minute some where in the playlist. I have two options at the moment to do this: - restart ezstream -

smbclient queue command issue
Help or suggestions please: When using smbclient to handle printing from a AIX system to a windows print queue somethings work and others do not. I have been able to print without issues to the windows print queue. But I cannot get a listing of the print jobs in a print queue. This is important so the UNIX users can take action on thier print jobs. I'm not sure which why to turn at this

[PATCH v1 0/1] s390: virtio-ccw: PV needs VIRTIO I/O device protection
Hi all, In another series I proposed to add an architecture specific callback to fail feature negociation on architecture need. In VIRTIO, we already have an entry to reject the features on the transport basis. Transport is not architecture so I send a separate series in which we fail the feature negociation inside virtio_ccw_finalize_features, the virtio_config_ops.finalize_features for S390
