R_USER - in which file should I include it?
Hello I am a newbie. I had my R upgraded from 2.7.1 to 2.7.2 and in doing so I decided to install all 2.7 versions under c:\program files\R\2.7 from now on (2.7.1 is located under .\2.7.1) Although I don't like the idea (I am running Vista), I have edited etc\Renviron.site to contain: R_USER=c:/Users/eduardo/Documents/R R_LIBS_USER=c:/Users/eduardo/Documents/R/win-library/2.7 As far as

Sorry for asking
Hi all I'm new to wine and to this group. I have already tried to find the answer to my question on http://wine.codeweavers.com/docs (developers guide) and other messages of this group (via http://groups.google.com), but i have no succeed. Newbie: Examples on functions callling a library etc.
Hello R is pretty new to me. I need to write a function that returns three matrices of different dimensions. In addition, I need to call a function from a contributed package with the function. I have browsed several manuals and docs but the examples on them are either very simple or extremely hard to follow. Many thanks Ed [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Using rpcclient or samedit to randomise trust account passwords
when an nt 4.0 workstation or backup domain controller is joined to a domain, the trust account password is set to a well-known initial value. if you are concerned about internal network security, this is not really an acceptable risk: any captured network traffic can be decoded simply from knowing the name of the workstation, which is contained in the network traffic itself. the initial value

[LLVMdev] get ref to parent instruction
Hi Oscar: In instructions like the one I showed can I expect that Value::use_begin and Value::use_end will return only the getelementptr or there is a chance I will get other users of that constant? Build a package - check error
Dear R-users I am slowly migrating my mex files (MATLAB - Fortran and C) to R. To get my own functions available on R section I have decided to learn how to build a R package. I choose a simple example with a few Fortran and R functions (wrapper). The fortran sources are located at src and the R functions at R (as recommended). The building process went ok but R CMD check did not. The error

interpretation of p values for highly correlated logistic analysis
Dear list, I want to perform a logistic regression analysis with multiple categorical predictors (i.e., a logit) on some data where there is a very definite relationship between one predicator and the response/independent variable. The problem I have is that in such a case the p value goes very high (while I as a naive newbie would expect it to crash towards 0). I'll illustrate my problem

Faking system time
Hello all. I am trying to use WINE to make a windoze-only development environment (very rudimentar, command line cross-compiler and stuff) under Linux, because GNU make is far superior from the M$'s 'nmake'. Anyway, I have some trouble with expirating licenses and stuff, and the solution is to revert the system date back to some valid thing and then compile. Since I am now running

advapi32.dll
Hello, Have solved all my problems with WINE, but one, which seems harder ;-) I have to run a little proggie "filesign.exe", and the lil bastartd relies heavily on advapi32.dll crypto stuff, (CryptAcquireContextA(), for example). From what I read on the code (dlls/advapi32/crypt.c), most of this functions are stubs, so no luck (it crashes all over with the return FALSEs) So, I tried
