Broken oplock with SuSE Linux ?
Hello, I am using Samba since three years on different Servers and OS - 6 Solaris Sparc and 3 Solaris x86 and on one AIX. Last week i did one small server installtion for 10 W98 Clients with SuSE Linux 6.1 (kernel 2.2.3) and i had for the first time problems with broken oplocks. Some programs just hanged and in the logfiles i found "broken oplock" message. Does Linux support kernel

How to set Netscape enviroment on Samba home drive ?

You get this kind of stuff by default with roaming profiles.( ie user.dat or ntuser.dat ) If you are referring to netscape 4 then just point the profile to the home directory (mapped to a consistent drive

How to save R "clean" sessions in BATCH mode?
Thanks a lot for all of you that have reply me about opening and ending R workspaces in BATCH mode. However replies were a king general and I?m afraid I could not take the entire message from them. Therefore I chose to expose here a representative fraction of my work. I have 50 Rdata files (F1,F2,F3,F4, ,F50) with objects inside. I need to: open F1: - perform some simple operations

AIX as PDC: troubles with length of usernames.
Hi, I want to migrate our NT domain to SAMBA over a RS/6000 F50 machine with AIX 4.3.3. ?Are there successful attempts out there on AIX ? Currently I have some problems because the machine accounts (AIX has a hard limit of eight characters in the usernames and the final '$' character break this rule). Thanks in advance for any help. Dynamic tags in email address
I'm trying to get dynamic tagging (user+sometag at example.com) to work on a mail server I'm setting up, however it only works as long as it's sent to the main user and not to aliases. virtual-alias-maps query: SELECT get_email_alias_dyn('%s') virtual-mailbox-domains query: SELECT 1 FROM domain WHERE name='%s' virtual-mailbox-maps query: SELECT 1 FROM user_alias

Problems PXE booting syslinux.efi on HP EliteBook 2560p / 8460p
Hi there, I have experienced problems on HP Elitebook 2560p and 8460p latest firmware installed: 2560p 68SSU ver. F50. 08/04/2014 8460p 68SCF ver. F50. 08/04/2014 PXE boot, syslinux.efi gets perfectly TFTP transferred, it nevers asks for ldlinux.e64, and immediately gives up. I have traced the problem to: /syslinux-6.03/efi/udp.c\core_udp_open()

[LLVMdev] Module::getOrInsertFunction determinism
Hi All, I’ve got a question about Module::getOrInsertFunction(). I got an impression that it is not deterministic where exactly in the bit code module the new function will be inserted. Is there a way to make it deterministic by explicitly specifying some offset at which the function should be inserted? Please correct me if I’m wrong. Thank you very much in advance for help, Best regards, Tomek

[LLVMdev] Module::getOrInsertFunction determinism
Hi Philip, I would like to ask a follow-up question about code generation. Do you know if is expected that if we take the same bit code modules and link them together in the same order (programatically), but on different machines (assuming the same version of LLVM and roughly the same OS), the output may differ with respect to order of function definitions inside module? Thank you very much in

[LLVMdev] Module::getOrInsertFunction determinism
Hi Philip, Thank you very much for your comments. I think I’ve discovered a root cause. The problem was in linking bit code archive files with the module. At some point, std::set<Module*> is used and iterated over. I believe this was the reason why e.g. It worked consistently with ASLR turned off and produced non-deterministic output otherwise. I changed that bit to use vector instead and

Dovecot 2.3.8 - How to force index creation for user/mailbox?
Someone who have mailbox in different directory than indexes, can confirm if doveadm can recreate index (after deleting dovecot.index* files) or these files can be created only by connecting with IMAP client? ?r., 4 gru 2019 o 15:45 Sami Ketola <sami.ketola at dovecot.fi> napisa?(a): > > > > On 4 Dec 2019, at 11.48, Tomek Lutelmowski via dovecot < > dovecot at

Dovecot 2.3.8 - How to force index creation for user/mailbox?
Neither of dovecot.index files are created (.cache, .log, .thread) - these files are created when I open the folder with IMAP client. When mailbox is not used for long time, the indexing takes very long time. So I'm looking for any solution (preferably with doveadm) to manually reindex folders in background. wt., 3 gru 2019 o 20:23 Aki Tuomi <aki.tuomi at open-xchange.com> napisa?(a):

Samba as a domain controller for Linux workstations?
I was wondering, if it's possible to set up Samba as a sort of a domain controller for Linux workstations? I'm thinking of benefits like roaming profiles, managing printers etc. Or perhaps for Linux there are better choices than Samba, when it comes to the office / school use (many users, many classrooms, many workstations etc.)? -- Tomek http://wpkg.org
