Unwanted carriage returns storing dataframes with dbWriteTable
If I save a dataframe with a character-typed last column to a relational database with dbWriteTable, the values in the last column of the resulting table in the database will have a '\r' (carriage return) appended. If I read back the dataframe with dbReadTable the last column in the resulting dataframe has also '\r' appended (see protocol below). Setting or unsetting sql-mode

(PR#12742) Different result with different order of
FAQ 7.31 strikes again. This is expected: you cannot do exact arithmetic on a binary computer if some of the quantities involved are not binary fractions (e.g. 1.3) See also the warning in ?`==`: identical() is equally inappropiate for computed numerical quantities. Grandstream GXP2160 + SRTP
Hello, I am trying to setup a Grandstream GXP2160 IP-phone with secure calling (SRTP). Secure signaling SSIP for registration is working great ! I follow this guide : https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Secure+Calling+Tutorial But when I try to make a call with SRTP, I get stuck. There is an initial INVITE which is anwered with a 401. There should follow a new INVITE with a nonce,

Setup.exe Hides Dialogues
I'm new on here, so I hope this has not been answered too many times already. I searched the knowledge base at the Wine site without finding a solution. I just switched from Mandrake to Lindows, which seems to have a capable version of Wine running. However, with two Winapps I've tried to install, the initial setup window (fullscreen, borderless, no controls) completely hides the

Problems running apps from Samba 2.0.0 share on NT 4.0
Ever since I upgraded from Samba 1.9.18 to 2.0.0, I've been having problems with applications started from a Samba share dying silently, or with an Illegal Instruction message, on NT 4.0 Workstation. Since the only configuration change has been the Samba upgrade, that would seem to be the orgin of the problem. Below is my smb.conf file, in case I have something configured (or not configured)

Samba and Windows shares
Good evening- I am a systems engineer with BAE Systems and am looking to solve a Single Sign-On and file access issue using Vintela Authentication Services (VAS) and Samba. This is to be accomplished on Solaris 9 (0904) workstations and function within an Active Directory environment (e.g. Windows Server 2003). VAS is currently advertising that the capability exists to integrate Samba with Active

shorewall iprange tweak
I often find myself doing, whois some.damned.ip.address and then copying and pasting the address range for the miscreant in question, and doing, shorewall iprange x.x.x.x-y.y.y.y with the aim to drop the entire range. My one minor complaint is that I often have to edit out the spaces between the hyphen when copying and pasting the address range returned by whois. I tweaked the shorewall

homes share mapping problem in samba 3
Hi, I had tried posting this to the newsgroups twice but never got a response. Please see below...is mapping to \\server\homes no longer supported in samba 3.0.1 or above? Please let us know; thanks! The homes share is not mapping properly anymore once upgrading to samba 3. This works without problems in samba 2.2.8a and 3.0.0. However I have seen this problem consistently in 3.0.1, 3.0.2,

Problem found and fixed with --update
Greetings, all. A co-worker has found a problem with using the '--update' option of rsync, but happily he was able to fix it. Since I'm the one who's subscribed to the rsync mailing list, I'm the one that gets to share it with y'all. ;) A snippet of his email to our developers describes the problem: > Subject: rsync fixed: --update bug > Date: Friday 18 June

btrieve applications
Hello fellow samba users, I have installed quite a couple of samba fileservers so far. There are exactly two installations which give me real hard time, and both have to do with Win9x clients running applications based on ... *sigh* btrieve. What I do server-sided is switch on opportunistic locking (level2 oplocks = yes). Without this, the applications don't run at all, at least not on more

Building 3.7-p1 on i686-pc-linux-gnu for execution on i386-pc-linux-gnu
I have a small single-board computer (SBC) I'd like to run OpenSSH on, but when I build the binaries on my development station and copy them over, I get "Illegal Instruction" errors when running them (sshd, ssh-keygen, ssh-add, ssh-agent, ssh-keyscan). I have successfully built zlib 1.2.1 and tested it with minigzip on the SBC, so I don't think the problem is with zlib. I have
