Authentication failure question.
I am running Samba 2.0.6 and have had this minor nagging problem since v1.9.X. Every time a Win95 client accesses a share on the Samba box I get the following message in syslog(/var/log/messages) Mar 9 11:03:46 kesrith PAM_pwdb[31604]: authentication failure; (uid=0) -> henris for samba service The client does get thru and is not denied access but the message does pop up. They do have an

Blank page after each job from W95
Whenever I send a print job from a W95 client to a raw printer on my Linux box, I get a blank page automatically. When I print directly from Linux this does not occur. I have seen more subscribers mentioning this problem, but never did I see a solution for this. Can somebody help me out? Samba messing with PJL to printer
We have a Kyocera FS-3750 printer here that works fine from Windoze (NT 4.0 and 98) clients if connected "directly" via the Windows "LPR" interface but which spews out pages of garbage if spooled through Samba 2.0.7 on a Solaris box. What happens is the printer for some reason thinks it is being sent text but the first few lines are really PJL commands : %-12345X@PJL JOB @PJL

2.2 Alpha3 - how stable is it?
Hi all, I was wondering what the feeling was of those on this list as to how stable this alpha is? Is it useable in a production environment for basic file sharing of a shared database (ACT)? The reason I am asking is I am having major file corruption issues with Win2K clients using 2.07, and if the suggestions already made do not fix the problem, I would be willing to try it, if it is

browsing, subnets, across, workgroups
Why does browsing across subnets only work if all of the machines are in the same workgroup? We're really a unix and mac campus, but we're trying to support windows machines by using a samba server to let them print and let the students access a little chunk of disk space. I've got a samba server set up as the workgroup SERVERS, and I've told it to be a domain master, a

Samba+PDC+LDAP (add user script + unix passwd sync) Can't call perl script
Hi, i've compiled samba 2.2.4 on a Redhat 7.1 machine, working with openldap 2.0.23. I also downloaded smbldap-tools from IDEALX which i fixed myself to fit my needs. Everything work very fine when running the scripts in shell mode... but! In smb.conf : ============= add user script = /usr/local/sbin/smbldap-useradd.pl -w %u This line don't work and it should, because when running

Browsing only works when in Samba workgroup
Hi, We have a central Samba server which works fine. It also supplies WINS services which work fine. It also builds a browse list which seems to work fine. However, when I open 'Entire Network' on my W95 desktop machine on another subnet, I only see the workgroups / hosts on my subnet. The 95 machine is pointing to the Samba server as a WINS server. If I change the workgroup of

Subnet Browsing, Halfway There
I have a network which consists of two subnets, each with a linux server providing Samba services. With the configuration listed below, I have successfully achieved Subnet B being able to browse Subnet A but, Subnet A cannot browse Subnet B (sharename not found). Is it a Samba configuration issue or is it DNS? (I have it fixed if I put an /etc/lmhosts file on Linux Server A that has the host

Samba and DOS
Greetings, Is there any way to get Samba to interact with MS-DOS? I am attempting to turn a Linux box into a VPN router for DOS clients. What I need to know is, can I get a CIFS protocol stack for MS-DOS, is a TCP/IP stack sufficient, are there any other solutions anyone knows about? Thank You. Configuration woes corrected
Well after I tried it the ./configure on all machines ( 4 total) I ran a few other compiles of other programs and figured out what was missing. Evidently the RH62 kernel "forgets" to put a symlink from /usr/src/linux/include/asm-i386 --> asm. I put that in and presto ./configure creates the Makefile and I am compiling 2.0.7Pre2 as we speak. What keyed this was trying a kernel compile,

[LLVMdev] Dis-assembler
Hi, I would like to make a disassembler for my target that reads .s files into a MachineFunction with MachineInstrs. Is this possible? [LLVMdev] Dis-assembler
Could you please expand a bit? Why are not the MCInstr and MachineInstr classes compatible? Is this not a long term goal, even? Could I make optimization passes in the MC layer with a disassembler as in a MachineFunction? Thanks, Jonas -----Original Message----- From: Eric Christopher [mailto:echristo at apple.com] Sent: Friday, February 17, 2012 8:20 PM To: Jonas Paulsson Cc: LLVMDEV
