Errors in smbd log file
List, Regarding a problem I'm having that I can't login to our domain, after searching google I checked my smbd log file. I pasted the log file below. Please know that I could see the samba server in my network places just fine before. Now when I double click on the domain I get the error message that the path was not found. I'm running w2k. Thanks, [2007/04/06 08:41:39, 0]

The smbd ran away with the spoon...
It seems that my smbd process got fuxed somehow. It appears to have take up all the file handles, and there were over 130 smbd processes running on the system. I'm not entirely sure what happened. My first thought is that something bad happened between the server and the Windows client that's running Kaza (with a couple hundred mid-download files) and it just spiraled out of control,

Spontaneous Hangup occuring
Hello all, I updated from CVS a few days ago and noticed that my calls just cut out without reason. The CLI says this: -- Hungup 'Zap/3-1' It occurs without error or warning. Is their a bug in CVS asterisk or libpri? This never occurred before. Cheers, Paul Seniuk -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Name: Paul Seniuk.vcf Type:

XP spontaneous reboot after folder rename on samba share.
I just want to get this information into the mailing list archives. In my situation I had Windows XP SP2 workstations mapped to a samba share on a debian etch stable server. My corporate overloards changed our AV product to Norton. After that, when users would rename a file or a folder on the samba share the workstaion would suddenly reboot (and not execute the rename). The samba server was a

SPA-841 spontaneous voicemail problem
Hello. A while back, I noticed an odd problem with our SPA-841 phones connected to Asterisk. Now we are having a different odd problem, and I'm not sure if they're related. I wonder if anyone else has experienced anything else like this, and/or if there is any reasonable explanation? Occasionally, one of our SPA-841's will spontaneously start up with "Welcome to Comedian

Smbd AIX syslog error messages
Hello, I'm looking for an explanation of the errors we are seeing in syslog pertaining to samba. This is an AIX 5.2 ML04 samba server running version 3.0.7 of samba. The ones we see the most are the following: 1.) Jan 4 04:16:40 server smbd[104176]: getpeername failed. Error was A socket must be already connected. 2.) Spontaneous reboots on asterisk 1.6.2.11
Hello list, has anyone else also noticed spontaneous reboots ?! I noticed this today and also yesterday. Can't really see if there is a fixed time between the reboots. Normally al of my SIP peers are registered. When I put up the CLI today I saw that a lot of SIP accounts where UNREACHABLE and needed to register again (what they slowly did). These are realtime SIP peers that reside on

runaway smbd processes
Hi, I have a problem with the followig configuration. If anyone can shed some light on it I would be very grateful! Solaris 8 Samba 2.2.4 running via inetd NT 4.0 users access data and their own home directories stored on Unix from, mainly, NT PCs Not all, but some users end up with multiple smbd processes. Every now and again, one smbd process (normally belonging to one of about 3 users)

Missing smbd, nmbd in Samba package 2.2.10?
Hello group, OS is OpenBSD 3.6 (macppc). I've been away for a while so excuse the obvious here... I did a pkg_add samba2.2.10.tgz which completed successfully. Now I'd like to start the daemons, however, where are the smbd and nmbd daemons? I've looked in /usr/local/bin and see: /usr/local/sbin laxbcastdns01# cd .. laxbcastdns01# cd bin laxbcastdns01# l total 8606 drwxr-xr-x 2

CentOS 6 spontaneous reboots
Hello everyone - My CentOS 6.8 server has been rebooting itself every 2 to 4 hours for the last several days. I do not know where to look for logs that might give a clue what the problem is. There are no unusual entries in /var/log/messages. I looked over other log files in /var/log and found nothing suggestive. Where else can I look? By luck I saw the beginning of a reboot on the server

ERROR: cli_session_request() failed...
Hello, I am using smbspool and I seem to be getting an error that I can't find a solution to. I checked Google, Usenet and the samba archives. I seem to find people with the problem, but no answer. When I try to use the smbspool program, I get the following error: > root@HomeLinux:/home/steve# smbspool smb://192.168.1.4/LaserPrinter 0 0 0 0 0 README > ERROR: cli_session_request()

smbspool and cups on Centos5
Hi, I'm cannot get smbspool to print to a kerberized windows printer through cups. Kerberos is working, and both smbclient and smbspool can connect to the server. Even though sending a formatted page manually with smbspool works, cups returns "Unable to connect to CIFS host, will retry in 60 seconds..." I read an older post here:
