WinCVS breaks after 1.1.17
WinCVS does not work properly with Wine post 1.1.17. (Ubuntu Jaunty) For some reason, a fresh checkout of a repository shows files as "modified" even though they have just been checked out. I reverted back to 1.1.17 and things are back to normal. I am not sure how to file this so I am posting here.

Samba patch kludge-gmt fixes red files in WinCvs
Hi all, in our LAN we use a Samba server (version 2.2.9) on Linux (Debian Woody) to provide file services to workstations running (mostly) W2K. WinCVS is a GUI frontend to the popular CVS version control system. After the swap to and from daylight savings time WinCVS erroneously flags all files in cvs working directories on Samba shares as modified (because of the icon color WinCVS users refer to

More WineX Build Problems
I downloaded a newer copy of WineX from the CVS, using WinCVS (Pesky winmodem doesn't work with Linux). I copied it to my linux partition & did a ./configure . To my surprise, an error was returned! bash: ./configure: No such file or directory I'm confused. What am I doing wrong (Yes, I'm a pathetic newbie)? Anybody have any ideas?

TortoiseCVS
Hi, I'm trying to use TortoiseCVS under Linux (through Wine). I'd like to eventually write some shell scripts to invoke it properly from Nautilus but that is still a ways off. Some of Tortoise's functionality works, like enumerating the code modules in the CVS repository. However, actually checking out code works for the first file but then fails:

Samba 3 reports 'directory does not exist' when trying to creating an already existing directory
Hi, since an upgrade to Samba 3 (the binary rpms samba-3.0.0-1from a samba download site, redhat 7.3) this morning, we've been experiencing problems with WinCVS on mounted network drives. apparently, (one of) the following options is causing the problems (I can't do more detailed testings right now because too many people are working on the server) - we use these options to ensure

Samba-delay (timeout??)
I have an infrequent problem that sometimes when I'm accessing files on my samba-server, it happens from time to time that the client computer appears to hang for a limited time. Say 20-30 seconds. It doesn't matter if it is a small file .TXT file or a large DivX movie. This has happened to me with different versions of samba, and I first suspected that it might be power-saving on the

Reshape a data set
I am trying to reshape a data set. Could someone please help me with the reshape, cast, and melt functions? I am new to R and I have tried reading up on how to use the reshape package, but I am very confused. Here is an example of what I am trying to do: subject coder score time [1,] 1 1 20 5 [2,] 1 2 30 4 [3,] 2 3 10 10 [4,] 2 2

Decoding a continues stream
Hi, I've trying to decode a FLAC audio stream. I have a reader which sends raw byte data to my FLAC wrapper class. Only once the decode function below returns, the reader will send new data. Hence I want to decode until the stream is empty, but I will add new data to the stream once it is empty. *void **MyFlacCoder::**decode(char *data, int bytes) { mBuffer = input;

[LLVMdev] 2.1 Pre-Release Available (testers needed)
Hi, LLVM 2.1-pre1 test results: Linux (SUSE) on x86 (P4) Release mode, but with assertions enabled LLVM srcdir == objdir # of expected passes 2250 # of expected failures 5 I ran the llvm-test suite on my desktop while I was also working on that PC, so don't put too much trust in the timing info. Especially during the "spiff" test the machine was swapping
