I can't get iaxComm to connect to guest@misery.digium.com
On advice from others I dropped gnophone in favor of iaxComm. I am operating on an IBM T30 laptop Redhat Linux 2.4.20-8 with an Intel i810 audio chipset (comes in the laptop). I am using the Gnome desktop. There is no reference to alsa or oss to be found. All audio components function fine. Nothing else is running and I have an active broadband internet connection. I can ping www.digium.com

Hi Jerry, Thank you for this statement! ... the problem in the last days/weeks was, no infos from the team members! It is no big problem if something is not working. But, if we are making tests and reports bugs/problems and so on ... And no one from the team give a answer ! This will make us crazy, too. You and all of the team members make a great job! ... we will see us in Goettingen!

samba3 upgrade misery
Greetings, all We've been running samba2 for far too long - I'd just never found the time to upgrade, and it wasn't a priority since it WORKED. Our little Solaris9/SPARC64 box happily served our few gigs of files to 20 users, and played the part of a PDC. Then I upgraded CUPS, and discovered samba2 doesn't like cups-1.2 libs, and figured it was as good an excuse to make the

Windows 7 + Samba 3.5.6 = abject misery...
Can anyone help with this? I set it all up a few months ago, the samba side being standard upgrades via debian - configured as a PDC, and the windows 7 clients being clean installs, with the standard lanmanworkstation regedits done. They've been working fine since then, but have now started failing, instead raising the error message 'The trust relationship between this work station and

Samba + LDAP = Misery
I have been working on this for weeks now and feel like I am at a dead-end. I am using Samba 3.0 (Head) and OpenLDAP (2.0) and smbldap-tools 0.7 and cannot join either a Linux machine or Windows 2000 machine to the domain. If any of you have some ideas they would be much appreciated. Highlights: - I have a root defined (UID and GID of 0). - Trying to join the domain will successfully add my

Having a Blonde moment.
I know I must be being daft, but is there a way to set which context the queuing system uses when it dials the operators/agents? By default it appears to use the default context. I've looked through voip-info.org and can't find anything, someone please put me out of my misery.

Whether to use systemd to start services
I'm wondering if it's normally required to start services with systemd as opposed to sysv? I currently load a few services using the old init.d/service funtionality, which still works fine. Is this ok or is sysv going to be fully discontinued in the future? The service I load is celeryd via init.d but so far finding few pointers as to how to do this with a celery.service file. I can load

numerical subscripts in a loop in a plot
Hi R Graphics Gurus I am unable to figure out this issues with unevaluated expressions. I'm trying to create a graphic where I calculate the residual from a regression and want to mark each residual with its observation number. So something like plot(0,0, type = "n", xlim = c(0,10)) for(i in 1:10){ text(i, 0, substitute(paste(epsilon[i]))) } except that i end up pasting

Requery: R 1.0.0 for Win95 and clipboard
Noone answered so I guess this is not possible, but can anyone definitely put me out of my misery... 'I have just begun using R 1.0.0 for Win95. Can someone please tell me how to put a data frame on the clipboard, and how to read data into a data frame from the clipboard.' Is this something that's planned? The clipboard seems pretty fundamental to Windows (and other OS?). Thanks

returning strings to R from C functions
I'm using .C() and .External() and have no problems sending integers, reals or strings from R to C. Nor do I have problems sending integers or reals back from C to R. But I'm pulling my hair out trying to set a string value in a C function and then sending it back from C to to R. I've searched the usual sources and tried various casts, macros and allocation schemes, but I'm

"Pursuit of Happiness" ? Are you sure ?
I always kind of liked this title (the title of Davids super Rails presentation), but then I saw this quote today: "The pursuit of happiness is a most ridiculous phrase; if you pursue happiness you''ll never find it." by C.P Snow I''d have to agree with this quote. It''s the same as love... go looking for it, and you''ll never find it. Soooo... David,
