Samba on SCO Unix
I'm trying to run Samba on SCO Unix Openserver Version 5. After starting smbd and nmbd, I try to list the shares on the server by running "smbclient -U% -L localhost" and I get the following error message: "session setup failed: ERRSRV - ERRbadpw (Bad password - name/password pair in a Tree Connect or Session Setup are invalid.)" Has anyone seen this before on SCO or

Dos To Unix?
If we drag a file from a Windows directory - say autoexec.bat and drop it onto a samba mapped Unix drive, when we then go to the Unix box and vi the file all the lines end in the DOS EOL character (^M) is there any option/configuration in samba to make it convert DOS text files to UNIX format? smbclient for SCO OpenServer 5.0.7
Looking back in the samba mailing list archives, I see not soancient requests for samba on ancient SCO OpenServer systems. Recently faced with a situation where a Windows Server upgrade to 2012 R2 and broke an smbclient upload from a SCO OpenServer 5.0.7 system. Directory listings and file deletions did not fail, but all upload attempts produced empty files on the Windows server (this due,

samba, ldap and sco.. help please?
The subject pretty much sums it up. SCO, Samba and LDAP.. only, we're not using LDAP. I got dropped into the middle of this project with little information about much of anything and I'm not a native to SCO and I'm unfamiliar with Samba, however I will be as informative as possible. # uname -a SCO_SV smbpsrv1 3.2 5.0.6 i386 # /usr/local/samba/bin/smbd -V Version 2.0.7 The admin of

impedence mismatch between openssh 3.4p1 and openssl 0.9.6d on SCO OpenServer 3.2 5.0.6
Hi, I have been trying to build openssh 3.4p1 on SCO Open Server xxx It requires the libcrypto.a library produced by OpenSSL. So, I downloaded and installed OpenSSL 0.9.6d. As part of the configure process for OpenSSH, 'configure' checks for version of libcrypto.a with RAND_add(). RAND_add is defined in rand_lib.c and during the build of OpenSSH, I can see that rand_lib.c is compiled

password problem -- or bug?
A Redhat 6.0 linux server with Samba 2.0.6, Windows 95/98 clients. By accident I just discovered a surprising and quite disappointing password problem on our Samba network. If a user on our network has a non-empty Windows password, he is forced to supply his password to log in to the network and gain writing privilegies -- as expected. However, if the user has an empty Windows password, he is

same value in column-->delete
Hi Readers, I have a question. I have a large dataset and want to throw away columns that have the same value in the column itself and I want to know which column this was. For example > x<-data.frame(id=c(1,2,3), snp1=c("A","G", "G"),snp2=c("G","G","G"),snp3=c("G","G","A"))

Selecting obs within groups defined by 2 variables
Hello, I am relatively new to R, and I am trying to select the last observation within a group, where the group is defined by two variables. One of the variables is a date. In the below example, C3 varies within C2, which varies within C1. I need to select the last observation in C3 for 4 groups (C1*C2): 1x, 1y, 2x, and 2y. In my real dataset, C2 is a date (mm/dd/yy) C1 C2 C3 1 x 1 1

The bloomin' Irish
Let me first apologise for asking on two lists, but this problem is (of course) urgent because prior to this afternoon I was unaware of the problem and it has been affecting production users for two days despite me having warned everyone that they should be looking out for possible Samba problems! I have just upgraded most of our samba servers from 1.9.18 (various patch levels) to 2.2.2 on

asterisk syntax highlighting for gedit
Hi, Apologies if this is a duplicate - been having mail server issues and I don't think I managed to send it when I tried this morning. It seems there is no .conf syntax highlighting script available for gedit. I'm thinking of putting one together myself, but don't want to reinvent the wheel. So I'm just enquiring if anyone knows of one that already exists that i've missed.
