Dear List This is probably not the way to go about getting some help with my problem and if I've screwed up, then I apologise. Here is my problem ... Host is SCO Openserver 5, running Samba 1.9.18p10 to which we've got a mix of Win NT and Win95 clients, this system has been running fine for months, yet over the last few days when a Win95 client trys to use one of the Samba shares you

Least Cost Routing - Are you doing it? What are you using?
Greetings. I've been playing with the TrollPhone Rate Engine Addon for a week or so. I'm curious what is being used out there for LCR applications? I've run into a stump with the Rate Engine and that is the costing is done with an integer. With this, how do you put in say 0.014 / minute rate. And if your periods are not 60 seconds.. well.. then you have even more places to

Packet8 and Asterisk, do they play nice?
Has anyone gotten Packet8 setup as a sip trunk for Asterisk? Would they be so kind as to share their config or point me to a website that shows how it can be done? I would be much obliged. X forwarding on OpenServer
Hi All, I've been having issues getting X forwarding to work on OpenServer for OpenSSH versions 3.4p1 and 3.5p1. I have compiled OpenSSH on Redhat Linux 8.0, Solaris 8, and OpenServer 5.0.6, but the OpenServer box is the only one that exhibits the problem. I've detailed everything below. I am using PuTTY for my ssh client under Windows. If I connect to the Linux or Solaris boxes, X

SCO Openserver Patch
I downloaded the Openssh-2.3.0p1 file and ran configure only to have it fail reporting the lack of libz. I found that configure was failing beacuse the test program did not include the libtinfo and libm which are needed to resolve references in libprot. I made changes to the configure script to add those libraries for SCO Openserver and then tried to compile the programs only to run into another

imap idle on non-inbox?
Can this be done with dovecot? I really like the imap idle feature, but it doesn't work for me because I sort my mail into folders with procmail, so it only notifies me when one drops into inbox and not a subfolder. Is there just an option for this I'm missing, or does support for this not exist yet? Also, I don't think its a client issue as I watched the traffic with tcpdump

Problems with SSH2 display under OpenServer
Hello, There appears to be a display issue when connecting to an OpenServer system using SSH2. I've compiled OpenSSH 2.5.1p1 on SunOS 5.7, HP-UX 11, and OpenServer 5.0.5. Whenever the destination is the OpenServer system, the display has a step-ladder effect. This behavior exhibits itself no matter what box the origination point is. A quick inspection revealed that the stty settings of

SCO OpenServer
I think what I need is a prebuilt package. I currently use Samba 2.2.12 running on SCO OpenServer 5.0.6 but I am in the process of upgrading to 5.0.7. Can't move to SCO version 6 because our application isn't guaranteed to work on it. Does anyone have a working Xen to try an SCO OpenServer5.0.6 installation on?
I''ve been dealing with SCO OpenServer 5.0.6 lately, and was forced to use VMware Workstation when I couldn''t get it working on Xen. That let me use it with IDE emulated drives, that avoided the whole intricate fun and games of installing compatible SCSI drivers. But VMWare ESX, which was not what I''d wanted to deal with, got selected for use, and since it

Subsetting simulation output
Does anyone understand this? I have a long vector parlist containing values of 138 parameters in 100 simulations. The factor parno is defined by trys <- 100 sim <- gl(trys,138) parno <- gl(138,1,trys*138) I want to extract and compare results for related groups of parameters but I get inconsistent results: > length(parlist[parno==37:42]) [1] 600 >

Port to SCO Openserver with PAM enabled
Hi all, I'm writing to you becuase I have compiled PAM in SCO (now Caldera) Openserver 5.0.x, and when I tried to use SSH with PAM enabled, y realized that OpenSSH depends on the user to exist en the /etc/passwd, and /etc/shadow databases, or equivalent ones (it uses getpw...() functions to determine validity of the user). In Linux, the simlpe solution is to use nsswitch, but it seems to hard

SCO OpenServer password issue
If SCO OpenServer is configured for large passwords, i.e. u_pwseg is greater than 1 in /etc/auth/system/default, then user authentication in auth-passwd.c will fail for users whose passwords are longer than 8 characters. The "traditional" level of security installs with u_pwseg#1, so most users would never encounter this problem. This has been an issue in openssh since I started using

Binary packages for Openserver 5.0.7
Are there any new binary packages of Samba for Openserver 5.0.7? We have been using Visionfs with XP workstations, but with Windows 7 looming, we will need to make the transition to Samba. The version of Samba that comes with Openserver 5.0.7 is 3.0.20, but I'm sure that version is too old to work with Win7. Any direction in this regard would be appreciated. Thanks. cameron.denaka at
