Transfer rate on NT/XP/2000 with service pack 6a
Hi SAMBA, This is not quite a remark on SAMBA, more a report of a problem that is not related to SAMBA. However it could be of concern to your developers team. At our company we recently (last week) installed two new fileservers. The next thing we got was a very strange effect. The configuration: - Two fileservers, running (i believe) Windows 2000, with service pack 6A and included all service

Dovecot doesn't use vchkpw properly :(
Hey all, It seems that dovecot does NOT call vchkpw properly when using vpopmail-style authentication, I can only guess that it reads the vpasswd{,.cdb} files directly. This is indicated by the syslog log for the mail facitily which reads: Jun 30 16:51:30 [vpopmail] vchkpw-smtp: (PLAIN) login success blah at blah.com:24.17.153.137 Jun 30 17:16:25 [pop3-login] Login: blah at blah.com

service pack info for wine's --winver nt40?
Hi, I'm trying to install OrCAD's eCapture in a no-windows environment. When I invoke the install shield with 'wine --winver nt40 Setup.exe' The shield reports 'service pack 0 requires at least service pack 3'. How do I trick the shield or any other windoz program to view wine's nt40 emulation having a specific service pack. Thanks, Art

Windows XP Service Pack 1
I have a BSD system that I installed samba 2.2.7a onto. Smbd and nmbd both work great but if I try to use smbclient to connect to a WinXPpro (service pack 1) machine like this: smbclient //BO/C$ password -I 207.x.x.x -U Administrator -W NETENG -n HOMER I keep getting NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE. I put a sniffer on the XP Pro machine and see the NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE message. Is there a problem

service pack 3 for office 2007
I am running ubuntu 11.10 with wine-1.3.28. When I run the exe file for the service pack from a terminal window, after going through the EULA and extracting files, I finally get a little pop-up saying "The installation of this package failed". What is printed on the terminal window is right below here. Code: gallo at patada$ wine office2007sp3-kb2526086-fullfile-en-us.exe

winetricks does not reset service pack number correctly
I just noticed that, when testing Lexware[1] with wine, that winetricks does not seem to reset the windows version correctly (or at least the Service Pack Number). On a fresh wine-installation I executed: winetricks msxml3 jet40 mdac28 dotnet20 When I now start the Lexware-Installer it says that "SP4" is installed (so it seems to be the setting for Windows 2000), but winecfg shows

win2000 service pack 4 - samba 2.2.2
Hello, At 5pm today, we had an individual notify me that their 'profile' no longer was accessible from the samba server (solaris 8 , smb 2.2.2). The person just had their laptop reimaged and the new M$ service-pack 4 was installed on it. They can access their 'home directory' just not the profile one. Error is concerning the user not having access, versus rights. I installed the

Re: Samba 3.0 PDC, exchange 5.5 installing service pack 4 fails.
Hi Jerry - I'm just e-mailing you regarding the Exchange SP4 upgrade error when using a Samba 3.0 PDC. We presently have a Samba 3.0 PDC and using Exchange 5.5 SP4 without a problem, however we are in the process of migrating to Win2K3 and Exchange 2K3 and are setting up a test network to simulate the migration. While installing SP4 on exchange I keep getting a Dr. Watson error exactly the

Not able to see files on Win XP (service pack 2)
Hello friends, I'm a newbie on this list and this is my first message here. I'm not new to Samba. I've been using the standard stuff that comes with Fedora and RH distros. I mostly do configurations through the GUI and haven't really edited the smb.confmanually, till now that is ! During the course of my work, I was recently faced with the need to integrate Samba into our working

Yet another data structure + pack/unpack question (win32-service)
Hi all, If you take a look at the service.rb file in the win32-service repository (the new one in the toplevel repository path), I''ve got this bit of code, which succeeds, but I can''t seem to unpack the data structure properly. Did I pack it wrong to begin with? I should know this but I''m spacing out. proc_status =
