samba-2.0.7pre2 and file timestamps
I just installed 2.0.7pre2 on a test system. The file "touch" problem from 2.0.6 seems to be back. Running various utilities called "touch" do not successfully update file timestamps on a filesystem provided by 2.0.7pre2. I actually prefer THIS incorrect behavior over the behavior I've seen after this bug is "fixed". The bugfix posted by Paul Eggert for 2.0.6

Win 9x and WinNT Clients connecting to Samba-Server
Hello, I know I should get rid of the problem by my own, but unfortunally I failed. So I ask: I`ve a subnet of win9x and WinNT clients connecting to our Linux file server (no more servers in this subnet) via samba 2.02. All win95 can see and mount services of the Samba server. But win98 and WinNT can only see the server but can not connect to a service. I`ve no encryption and security= user in

After upgrade to 4.9.4, internal DNS no longer working
Hi list, I just upgraded my Samba AD DC to v4.9.4. Unfortunately, I can't recall which version I had before that, I believe it must have been something between 4.6 and 4.8. Anyway, now that the upgrade is done, it looks like DNS is gone. Host commands are timing out, netstat reveals that no process is listening on :53. Other than that, Samba is starting and working fine. I can list shares,

After upgrade to 4.9.4, internal DNS no longer working
Oh, that doesn't sound good... Arch Linux. I did a regular system upgrade using pacman -Syu which automatically upgrades all packages to their latest version. I have another, practically identical system and I didn't have this issue there. Though I might have had a smaller jump between versions. PDC: Strange username translations...
Hi, i'm running a samba PDC on samba 3.0 and just had to reinstall the server because of a dead cpu causing corruption. luckily i had complete backups of the samba-files, so i copied them back to /etc/samba, /var/lib/samba and /var/cache samba. (tdb-files) i had one workstation (xp) removed from the domain and wanted to add it again, but then the station always gives me an error that i

Hello, For months I have the following configuration in run. Postfix with Mysql and Postfixadmin, Courier Imap + Pop I get a new server and, therefore, would like to change on Dovecot. The installation has also clapped without problems and the configuration has run so far also without defects. If I liked to call away the emails, I always get the announcement Internal Login failure.
