FireWall Effects on Samba (Newbie)
Dear List, I have been wrestling with getting Samba 2.2.5 on Redhat 7.1 working on a Windows NT network containing W2K, W98 and Mac machines. I can see the Samba server (gargoyle) from the Win machines fine, but cannot browse any shares (Network unreachable error message). Win98 SE - problem with copying to shares
Hi all, i have problems when copying to my shares from win98 to samba on redhat 7.3. Win starts copying but bracks with error, that the share is no longer available or is removed! does anyone know what that means??? I can create folders and browse through the shared folder, I also can delete. Any hints how i will be able to copy to that share? Thanks, Jochen

Win98 SE, Samba 2.0.5, abysmal write performance
I am running Win 98 SE and have a Samba server v2.0.5 on a FreeBSD 3.3 system. Both machines sit on the same 100baseTX subnet. I am seeing expected read performance, but writes from Win98 to the Samba share are terrible; upwards of 30 seconds to copy a 900kb file (yes, that's kb). problems printing from linux to Win98 SE box
