Samba 3 dms doesn't allow access through interdomain trust
Hello everyone! I have a little problem: HRH = trusted domain (Samba 3) Hendricks = trusting domain (NT4 sp6a) Trusts are setup between the NT4 and Samba3 + OpenLDAP domain and appear to be working properly. How should permissions be set for a Rails app?
I''m a newbie and I''m having a tough time figuring out how the permissions need to be set to get a Rails app running on a shared host. I''m attempting to follow the fastCGI instructions here: http://wiki.rubyonrails.com/rails/pages/FastCGI Now, I''m getting this error: ------------- You don''t have permission to access /dispatch.fcgi/ on this server.

Linux permissions not appearing under kernel 2.6
I have three machine mounting a samba share on a debian server running 3.0.11 (just updated as 3.0.10 has some serious problems). There's an XP box, and two Ubuntu (debian) PCs, one with Warty (kernel 2.4.21) and Hoary (kernel 2.6.4 / 5). Both Ubunutu machines have the following entry in fstab: \\Server\Documents /home/phill/Documents smbfs user, uid=nobody, gid=phill, guest 0 0 and both

Nothing happens between posix permissions (acls) and windows permissions (ACLs), they are different, see: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setup_and_configure_file_shares_with_Windows_ACLs On Unix, you can set read, write and execute/enter

C5 : Deleting un-deletable files ?
During a routine trawl through the ext3 files, I found some astronomical file sizes, billions and billions of GB. They also has strange user and group names. I can not delete these "weird files" (the term used by the operating system utilities). Here are a few examples. The original files were created on Windoze 98 version 2 circa 2001. > 2411957 p--x---rwx 65487 299196551

ACLs only apply to primary group?
Hi, I wonder if someone confirm this behaviour or point out my obvious mistake - gluster mounts via the native (fuse) client don't seem to work properly with POSIX ACLs, example: [jim at puppet ~]$ ls -la /mnt/ total 24 drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Feb 16 16:49 . dr-xr-xr-x 23 root root 4096 Feb 17 10:32 .. drwx-----x 3 root root 4096 Feb 15 03:00 arccontent drwxrwx--x+ 5 root root 4096
