gpresult returns "ERROR: The RPC server is unavailable."
Hi,
I have a CentOS 6.4 box running SerNet Samba 4.0.9 as an AD DC
replicating from a W2k3 box.
If I run "gpresult /s OLDDC /user MYDOM\Me" on a command prompt on
OLDDC, I get a normal output, listing which GPOs are applied.
If I run "gpresult /s NEWDC /user MYDOM\Me" in the same place, I get
"ERROR: The RPC server is unavailable." This is after a fresh restart

replication fails after internal error 11 / panic
Hai MJ, ( gelukkig nieuwjaar he .. ;-) )

After upgrade to 4.9.4, internal DNS no longer working
I could really use some support with this. I understand it's always
possible to just restore from a backup but the more interesting question is
if something can be done with the data at hand. Basically, I'm trying to
understand how it's possible that a dbcheck shows no errors, an ldbsearch
is successful, and yet it's not possible to start the AD properly. What
else is there that

replication fails after internal error 11 / panic
Hi,
We have three DC's, and one of them has been misbehaving a few times
lately, stopping to replicate, showing the following error in samba-tool
drs showrepl, for all DC partitions:

After upgrade to 4.9.4, internal DNS no longer working
The two systems I'm referring to are on different domains, different
locations. No connection whatsoever except me being the one administering
both.
According to oEMInformation the server was provisioned by 4.3.3. I just
checked the Samba log file and it seems that version 4.7.4 was running
before the update.
I'm now looking at the logs right before the upgrade and indeed, there have

Problem with nmbd??
I recently installed Samba-2.0.6 on my machine. I copied the smb.conf
over from another, working machine that I just got rid of. Anyway, I
can't seem to get things working. Here are some files:
when I 'restart' nmb in SWAT

Printing problem. (nmb related??)
Hi Folks,
I've been using linux for the past 4 years. I'm currently running RH 6.2
and samba 2.0.6.
My goal has been to eliminate MS from my computer and I'm almost there. I'm
trying to use samba to allow printing to my printer from other W95 & W98
computers. I've read the HOWTOs and generated the smb.conf file which is
at the end of this message. I used the [test]

smbclient 127.0.0.1 timeout .... PCs can't browse LInux share
Let's see I've got a network about 10 PCs running XP and 1 running

could access linux box through network neighborhood and access 2
shared dir and edit/change files.
Really not sure what has gone wrong. I am using Samba 2.2.8a
I run both smbd and nmbd as daemons. When I run ps -aux they show up.

Urgent Help pls - NT4.0 Term Server and SAMBA - RDR timeouts
Hello,
I'm new to this list.
The NT folk here, are concerned about some timeout errors and stuff that appear
in their event viewer. They are building a case to convince management that
unless these "samba" errors are fixed, we should move to NT file shares. I think
this is a bad idea. Can anyone help me out here.
We are running samba 2.0.6 (1st msg) and 2.0.5a (2nd err msg)

To be clear, for this particular solution you need to now rebuild and
re-install samba from source, as removing the -dev files has no impact
on already built binaries.

Automatic printer driver installation for NT4.0/NT2000 clients?
Dear All,
I've seen the PRINTER_DRIVER.txt doc on getting the PRINTER$ share set up to
automatically add printer drivers to Win95 clients. It explicitly says that
the procedure described does not work for NT4.0 clients.
I can't find any other documentation on setting up a PRINTER$ share suitable
for NT4.0 or NT2000 clients either in the distribution (2.0.5a) or the web
site.
Is this

samba-2.0.4b/NT4.0(SP3): share name
Hello, everyone. Could you help me to solve the problems?
Recently I downloaded samba-2.0.4b souce and after I compiled it, I used it
as
a replace of samba-1.9.18p8.
The smb.conf file was used as before. But there are two problems to me.
1)When I used samba-1.9.18p8, the Windows NT4.0(sp3) workstation can browse
the share names of Japanese SJIS, but now I couldn't access the shares
because
