Complete Web Interface?
Hi all, I was wondering, has anyone built a complete web interface for SMB servers? What I was thinking of would be something like SMB2WWW, but that would also allow the user to click command buttons to delete, upload, move, rename, etc. Permissions to the shares would be established the same way as they are done now, by asking for a username / password on restricted shares. Essentially, I

[LLVMdev] Tablegen: RegisterInfoEmitter.cpp
Hi, I just bumped into a bug in this code. The problem was as follows: I have defined a set of registers with rather similar names including digits. The code section at RegisterInfoEmitter::run(){ ... // Process sub-register sets. runs and fills the RegisterAliases map. then, ... for (unsigned i = 0, e = Regs.size(); i != e; ++i) { RegNo[Regs[i].TheDef] = i; NumAliases +=

Samba Print Server on Windows XP/2000 Clients
To Whom This May Concern, Quite honestly, this email is a "long-shot in the dark" for me, since I'm not sure if this email account is still maintained or not. As I searched at google.com for "Samba Print Server" this afternoon, I was led to the USENIX site that contained this email link. I'm currently facing an issue which I'm hoping you can be of help. SAMBA rejecting passwords from Win98 clients - the fix
There have been several postings about this phenomenon and we too fell into it when we introduced Win98 clients onto the network. Somewhere on the web I found the answer: By default Win98 sends passwords to a server encrypted, and by default SAMBA compiles with encrypted passwords switched off. Therefore the password one types in from a Win98 client is received by SAMBA in an encrypted form.

Beginner's Stumbling Blocks
Others have commented on the usefulness of adding an explicit list of what should be included in the kernel. I second that. There''s another thing that''s tripped me up: While iproute2 compiles and installs easily (on a Red Hat 6.1 box), the documentation is in a format that - while not obscure to old Unix hands - requires compilation, which requires: "To make documentation,

Windows98 & SMB
I have a question about Win98 and Samba. Is there a registry fix similar to the WinNT plaintext passwd that needs to be performed? Win95, and WinNT can see Linux via Netbios, but the same machine, running Win98 cannot see the Linux box. I am running the most current version of Samba. The WinNT box can see the 98 machine fine. Does anyone have any experience with this? Please let me know if

Stumbling blocks moving to NTLMv2
Hi folks, I have been asked to force NTLMv2 logins to avoid use of LM hashes. To meet the requirement I added some lines to the smb.conf in [Global] (we only have that section anyway - this is purely for domain authentication with an ldap backend): client lanman auth = no client NTLMv2 auth = yes lanman auth = no min protocol = LANMAN2 ntlm auth = no This seemed to work - users

Digium FXS modules too fragile?
Hi all, Yesterday, in an attempt to take back my phone room, I pulled everything apart as far back as the demarc and rebuilt it. In the process of putting things back together I accidentally connected my incoming lines to my FXS ports and my phones to my FXO ports. I quickly realized the mistake I made and corrected things but not before one of my FXS modules was smoked by incoming ring voltage.

Idirect when possible. I've also used the Viasat systems as well and from all the installs I've seen the hub operators never really understood how to run the hub to optimize for voip so I've pretty much given up on that platform. It seems that Idirect operators are the only ones who know how to make the system work well. If you want the best of the best nothing touches C-band though.

ellipse
Dear all, I'm using the ellipse package and I would like to verify if the confidence region that I build with this package can be equivalent to an Union Intersection Test. I used different value for the t-statistic but I can not find the right equivalence. Does someone know how to choose the right value? Thanks a lot. script.aculo.us support script loading fails with SiteMesh in FireFox
Hi everyone, I''m new to Script.aculo.us. I''ve searched the archives but haven''t found any info on this so thought I would ask. I have a web app that uses SiteMesh from OpenSymphony. Basically, it''s an outbound page decorator that applies common elements to pages as they head back to the client. I''d like to used the slider control, so

Re: Some compile time stuff
M > What is the error produced? It doesn't appear in the log. ....ah, and now I see why... Actually, this is a nifty failure, and we (well, *I*) haven't seen it before. The libs were apparently miscompiled; gcc/ld produced a shared lib missing neccessary shared lib symbols. Now all that remains to be seen is if this is a libtool option error, if your gcc/ld are broken, if they

Modem bridging on Asterisk (no VoIP involved)
Hi everybody. I know maybe this question has been posted some time ago, but I need your updated opinion on the subject. I'm replacing our old pbx with asterisk. I have two TE207 dual pri (e1) cards on a clustered system (one on each node). I absolutely need to connect 4/5 analog extensions with modems, they're being used for remote assistance on very old systems which cannot be upgraded
