Random dom0 lock up
Hi guys, Having a weird issue with a Dom0. When we were running 2.6.18.8 kernel the server would lock up every 2 weeks for no reason. Its been a difficult one to resolve as there are no errors. We have now upgraded to 2.6.32.13 and the lock ups are more often. For example today it crashed in the morning, then it was rebooted and it crashed again about 5 hours later, no logs. The

[LLVMdev] Build problem with gcc-4.3.2
Hi, on http://llvm.org/docs/GettingStarted.html#requirements you say you want to know about problems compiling llvm with gcc. I just tried compiling llvm and clang, using ./configure; make, and I got the following error, llvm[2]: Compiling StrongPHIElimination.cpp for Debug build StrongPHIElimination.cpp:1051: internal compiler error: in value_format, at dwarf2out.c:7218 Please submit a

[RFC-PATCH] Introducing virtio-example.
The main goal is to create an example to be used as template or guideline for contributors when they wish to create a new virtio device and to document "the right way" to do so. It consists of several parts: 1. The device specification * it can be found in the device header of the implementation * it will hopefully be added to the official virtio specification

automounting a usb-harddrive/cdrom that can be mapped from the login script.
Hi, I am installing a Samba 3.0.1 on RH90 for a little school, and they want to have access to a mobile usb-harddrive. The harddrive shoud be mapped via the login script, and here is were my troubles begin.... I have been experimenting with the autofs service, which works great if the harddrive is present at login time. If one login at a time where the harddrive isn't present the login

I'm trying to set up autofs on my C7 netbook so I can automount a cifs share (actually two) from my NAS box, and because when I'm not at home I don't want it attempting to mount it. so I've read several howtos on it, including the one on the CentOS Wiki. but what I've got isn't working right, and I don't know why. I'm trying to follow the

Using GPO to mount shares on Linux
Hello, I'm using a Samba 4 as domain server and I've a lot of Windows computers that mounts shared drives on another server through GPO applied by user groups. Is there any way to do something similar on a Linux box, or I've to use a local script? Thanks! -- _________________________________________ Daniel Carrasco Marín Ingeniería para la Innovación i2TIC, S.L.

Samba mount at Login?
Can someone tell me how to set up a mount to occur automatically on login? I have one directory per user on a Win network and I'd like each user to get his own directory mounted when he logs in. (Automounting on boot is ok, too). This is on Caldera eDesktop 2.4 with Samba 2.0.6. I can find and mount each directory just fine when logged in as root, but smbmount does not do the job when

OpenSSH Portable Tinderbox available to test.
Hi All. After one false start, I now have a Tinderbox up and running for the OpenSSH portable tree. For those not familiar with it, Tinderbox is a tool for automatically displaying the status of builds and tests. At the moment, I do 1 update and 4 builds hourly. It's not fully functional yet but the basics work. It can be found at http://dodgynet.dyndns.org/tinderbox/OpenSSH_Portable/ (I

Automounting a shared Windows Drive with
Hello, I have a few ideas about how to make my Linux server mount up a shared folder on a Windows machine at boot time, however I would like to know if there are other methods of getting it to work. I have considered building a startup script with a high number to have the system smbmount the shared drive like a service, in case of a power outage. I believe that would be considered

Automounting DFS path published shares under RHEL 5 with Samba?
I'm dealing with a Linux environment with extensive automounting, that also has DFS configurations for the Windows clients of various CIFS systems. I've got CIFS automounting working for various CIFS servers, which definitely has its uses, but I'd *love* to be able to mount the DIFS published paths for the CIFS shares? Basically, if I have shares called \\example1\share1 and

In my use, we continue to use autofs for automounts of CIFS volumes, because as best I can tell, systemd doesn't support using the request-key infrastructure to use a user's kerberos ticket to set up the automount. -- Jonathan Billings <billings at negate.org>

Update to EL 6.3 breaks TCP NFS automounts
See Red Hat Bugzilla bug #846852 for details. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=846852 FYI: We discovered that after updating to EL 6.3 on our x86_64 server, autofs 5.0.5-54 broke our nightly backups that rely on automounting an NFS share hosted on another EL 6 machine on our local network. The machine hosting NFS server was configured to allow only TCP connections to the port

NFS still serving old directory after rename
Howdy, I have renamed a directory on NFS ver 3 server and then created a new directory again with the same name. # mv dir dir-hosed # mkdir dir The directory is auto-mounted on client side. I had unmounted directories on client side before making above changes. Now when I try to mount back 'dir', I still see old files and not new empty dir. Am I missing something here in the NFS config?

Automounting (hotplug) with HAL on CentOS 5
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I would like to get add a new Wiki entry regarding Automounting with HAL for CentOS 5, since the behaviour is very different than CentOS 4.
