Hi All! Help! can anyone tell me what this message means? I'm running samba-2.0.5a. It sort of works, I can mount a samba drive from WinNT and run programs stored on the samba drive, but when I try and open an oracle form file on the samba drive, form reports an error opening the file. Hello, I'm running NT 4.0 (ws & server) with SP5. Everything was running fine with samba 2.0.0, but after building and installing 2.0.4b (freebsd 2.2.8) trying to browse the server shares results in a "A remote procedure call (RPC) protocol error occured." net view \\myserver also produces the same error message: "System error 1728 has occurred. NT 4.0 SP4 -> SP5: Permission denied?
Hi, I've upgraded an NT 4.0 Client from SP4 to SP5. Now I'm unable to mount a shared medium from the samba server, because the user authentication failed. After downgrading all things are well. Is this a problem of NT password encryption? I read NT 4.0 SP4 uses encrypted passwords already?! The samba server is running SuSE 6.1 with Samba 2.0.3. Thanks, Lars --

Winbind & NT SP5
Sorry to bother, but I posted this before with no responses. I am having several problems getting samba compiled with winbind to join a NT4 domain. Using smbpasswd I get the error cli_pipe:return critical error. error code was 0 and Unable to join domain DOM. On the PDC I get a Dr. Watson error C0000037, not even the administrator password is accepted on the console, and all clients connected to

session setup rejected by PDC and BDCs (NT4 SP5)
Hi, I?ve setup a Samba 2.0.5a on a SuSe 6.2 based Linux 2.2.10. I?m trying to integrate the server into our NT domain SF-DOM as described in samba/textdocs/DOMAIN_MEMBER.txt . The described procedures work, but access as domain user is impossible. In the logfile I get: [1999/09/14 11:18:31, 2] smbd/server.c:main(716) Changed root to / [1999/09/14 11:18:31, 2] smbd/reply.c:reply_special(96)

I have observed the following behavior when re-joining NT domains from Linux boxes (RH 5.2, fwiw). 1. follow the directions in the DOMAIN_MEMBER.txt (thanks Jeremy!) to successfully join a domain. 2. restart smbd and nmbd 3. log on to the domain, make use of all of the nice stuff. 4. reboot the Linux box 5. upon attempting to rejoin the domain I observe the following error

I just brought up samba 2.0.5a in a Solaris 2.6 environment. Smooth effort with no visible problems in CVS download, configuration, and make but attempts to reference data after connection yield this error. Has anyone seen this before and can point me in the right direction to to address? Thanks Andy [1999/07/31 15:14:30, 1] smbd/service.c:make_connection(521) agibson (209.31.144.167) connect

Samba and NT4-sp5 problems ??
We were using Samba 2.0.2 and Windows NT4-sp3 quite happily.. however someone wants to use sp5 (get me a large caliber rifle, PLEASE!!), and during some testing we noticed what 'looks like' file corruption problems. Files do not seem to get written to the samba shares properly/completely... I say looks like, because copying the files manually seems to be fine, but when done within an app,

Who can tell me how I adjust the R code for bootstrapping the Cox model?
Hi, The following code, from Angelo Canty article on line "Resampling Methods in R: the boot Package, 2002", works fine for Angelo Canty using R 2.6.0 on Windows XP. It also works for me using R 1.2.1 and S-PLUS 2000 on Windows XP after installing the S-PLUS bootstrap library, with slight differences in my outputs. > library(boot) > library(survival) >

Patch for Analog Devices compiler & fixed-point AGC
Hi Jean-Marc, As I told you, bank is a reserved keyword in Analog Devices compiler for Blackfin architecture. So we need to change the variables named bank to something else. Here's a patch that changes bank to bnk in the 3 concerned files. (Hope the format is OK) About my previous problems with the Blackfin: -> strange block repetition that could be cancelled by the AEC I was busy

Bad password error - samba 2.0.5a, Solaris 2.7
Hello all, For quite a while now we've been running a samba 1.9.16p10 server, providing file shares, etc for PCs. We're installing a new file server tomorrow so I thought I would take this opportunity of upgrading to a new version of samba. I've downloaded, compiled and installed the latest version (2.0.5a) on the new fileserver (Solaris 2.7) and all seemed OK until I try and
