Corrupted files with applications using Samba/NetaTalk-Server
Hi all,
I´ve read some mailings regarding corrupted files with application
using a Samba-Box as a File-Server. We´ve the same problem with
SolidWorks (a CAD-System) under NT4.0 Client and FreeHand under
MacOS (using NetaTalk). I´ve installed Samba 2.0.3 from SuSE 6.1.
The solutions I read were:
1. upgrade Samba to at least 2.0.5
2. switch off the NT-registrykey for fs-caching
Does anybody

NT 4.0 SP4 -> SP5: Permission denied?
Hi,
I've upgraded an NT 4.0 Client from SP4 to SP5. Now I'm unable
to mount a shared medium from the samba server, because the
user authentication failed. After downgrading all things are well.
Is this a problem of NT password encryption? I read NT 4.0 SP4
uses encrypted passwords already?!
The samba server is running SuSE 6.1 with Samba 2.0.3.
Thanks,
Lars

ip address of samba.org has changed
samba.org has moved and has a new IP address. You may find that some
services are inaccessible until your local name server fetches the
updated records. That should happen fairlly quickly, but please be
patient.
This affects the machines samba.org, cvs.samba.org and all email.
The machine is now located in the Linuxcare offices in Canberra,
Australia. It was located at the Australian National

RedHat 7.0 on Dell Poweredge 6300
I went to RedHats' page and found hardware requirements and it said
that the Dell Poweredge 6300 is a supported hardware. Then I went to
linuxcare.com and it does not list the machine. Before I look like a
buffoon, or continue to, Redhat will run on this machine, right? I
appreciate the help.
Thanks,

rsync script from homepage: trouble
Hello,
I'm new to this and am trying to modify the "backup to a central backup
server with 7 day incremental" script from
http://samba.anu.edu.au/rsync/examples.html to suit my situation.
I have ended up with the script attached below and when running it from
command line I get these errors:
rsync error: syntax or usage error (code 1) at main.c(726)
and a plethora of this

Back-up differences. Raspberry Pi and Fedora
I am using the 'backup to a central backup server with 7 day
incremental' example to archive three separate computers to identically
configured (apart from name) shares on a Western Digital 'MyBookLive'
NAS which has rsync enabled. The backup from two Raspberry Pi Computers
operates without a problem but the backup from a Fedora 32 computer

cannot bind when doing a browser sync
I hope this isn't too long, and I hope it's the correct list.
I have a network configuration where I have 2 hosts, A and B. Each has
a local LAN on which the run Samba, plus they're connected by a VPN. So
has A has addresses lanA and wanA, and host B has addresses lanB and
wanB. Because of the way the VPN works, they can talk to each other
either via their LAN addresses (lanA

SAMBA WINS and Dynamic DNS
I'm sure that I'm not the first person to begin integrating SAMBA's WINS server abilities and the new BIND 8 'dynamic' DNS functionality. I downloaded the sample copy of "dns_update" by Stephen Rothwell <sfr@linuxcare.com> which provided a good starting point for creating the interface between Samba 2.0.6's WINS update notification and dynamic DNS updates.

Hub/Spoke OpenVPN can't communicate from Client A to Client B - FORWARD:REJECT:IN=tun0 OUT=tun0
Hi, I am running OpenVPN where i have one central hub VPN server, and multiple spoke VPN clients. I can ping from each client to the server and each client to computers on the subnet which the server resides (192.168.2.0/24) so it works ok there. I cannot however, ping from one client to another client. I guess the packet path would go:
clienta -> vpn -> shorewall/router -> vpn ->

graphing with error bars
I am not able to find information about doing line plots with error bars in the R- help information.
Would someone like to tell me if this can be done in R and either get me started or lead me
to information about how to do the error bars?
Thanks,

Converting a list to a data frame
It looks like you made a copy/paste error below. Your ata.frame should
be data.frame.
