I'm trying to use Samba and FreeBSD 4.7-RELEASE to replace the Win2000 Server at work. On my test network I get the error: "The following error occurred attempting to join the domain "VINCENT": The credentials supplied conflict with an existing set of credentials." Performance issues with Samba 2.0.6 on FreeBSD
Hello, I have been experimenting with Samba's performance and I have found out few things. First of all, my samba server is FreeBSD 4.0-current running Samba 2.0.6. When performing tests, I'd transfer 700mb binary files from my samba share to a windows machine and back. Relevant performance tweaks in my smb.conf are as follows: socket options = TCP_NODELAY IPTOS_LOWDELAY read raw = yes

Logon script
Hello, I am having a little problem with executing logon scripts on Win95 clients, logging into Samba Netlogon service. When a user logges in, a MS-DOS prompt shows up and quicky disappears. Then I get "Please Wait While your logon script executes". It hangs at that point. A user has to hit cancel to start his win95 session. I have done the logon script in MS-DOS editor. I have the

Problems with norwegian letters when browsing samba share.
Hello! I have three machines, from witch I browse a samba share. The problem is that if I create a cataloge with a norwegian letter(?, ?, ?) in it, the only machine that can show this correct it sthe machine that created the cataloge. The other machines don't show this correct. The letters get swapped out with either underscore or some other funny looking letters, depending on witch

Database "double" data type
I''m sure this has been asked / answered before, but I couldn''t find it in the forum search. What is sthe rationale for not supporting a column type of double? I would have expected it to do so along with float - which it does support. Also, does anyone know if / when double might be supported? Thanks in advance for satisfying my curiosity. ---Michael -- Posted via

Password change problem, Samba 3.0.4
Greetings list. I've been trolling the archives and google searches all morning and cannot seem to come up with an answer to this, though I'm not the first to experience the problem. I'm running samba on FreeBSD 5.2.1-p4, installed from the ports collection. When a user other than root attempts to change an smb password (either through SWAT or with smbpasswd) I get the following

password sync "Failed to open/create TDB passwd" - some progress
I made a little progress. It is partly a file permissions error. If I change the permission of /usr/local/samba/private to 660. Since the unix Administrator (ie. Windows Domain Administrator) is in the sysadmin group, this gives it read-write permissions to this file. Under windows, as the Domain Administrator, I can now change account properties such as "password never expires."

lda: scaling to 'disctiminant function'
Friends Briefly... In the documentation for lda in MASS it describes the value 'scaling' as 'a matrix which transforms observations into discriminint functions...'. How? Verbosely... I have a matrix of data. 9 independent variables and describing 3-classes. About 100 observations in total. A 10x100 matrix of data. I am trying to generate two discriminant functions and i

Trouble with upgrading - RBS T1
Upgrading an ancient customer installation... was running 1.4.23.1 (Trixbox) with Zaptel 1.4.12.9 and a Sangoma A102D, which has been running fine for 5+ years. Customer getting anxious about hardware failure, so we built a new box and installed 1.8.24.0, Dahdi 2.7.0.1, and a new Sangoma A104D. The single active span is an RBS T1 B8ZS/ESF/E&M Wink. I tried to move one span over one
