2.2.0 Installed and a problem
Hello:
I've successfully build and upgraded to 2.2.0 here but I'm rapidly
puling out my hair (or what's left of it after alpha3) on getting W2K
working with LInux as a PDC.
Here's what I have:
smb.conf:

[root@eagle lib]# more smb.conf

samba 3.0.23d with ldap compile problem
Hi,
I'm trying to compile samba 3.0.23d for use with ldap as backend.
The system is Debian Sarge fresh installed, all updates installed, and
openldap-2.3.27 installed from sources.
I searched a lot but couldn't google out anythink that helped.
I sent this same mail jesterday with configure options for ldap, ld.so.conf
and samba error.log but it was too long. So another time with less

dovecot-lda can not find home dir
Hello,
Running dovecot 2.0.11 and pigeonhole on Fedora 14 x86_64. The lda
can not seem to find the user's home directory, yet other parts of
dovecot (pop3, imap, managesieve) can.
Grepping "Effective uid" from /var/log/maillog:

uid=726, gid=726, home=/home/pete

Debugging not going to log file
I have an Asterisk server running 1.6.2.13, where I can't seem to get
the increased logging to save to the /var/log/asterisk/messages file.
I have tried using the standard "core set debug 10" and "core set
verbose 10", as well as specifically pointing it to the filename with
"core set debug 10 /var/log/asterisk/messages". Still, only the most
serious errors are

Problem with AD
Hi All,
New to the list here. I am trying to connect my samba box to an Windows
Server 2003 box (yuck). My users want to be able to access shares on the
samba box with the same credentials they used to login into the windows
domain. Am I correct in thinking this is possible? As far as I can tell
from numerous tutorials and docs, I am. Anyway, I downloaded MIT's
kerberos5 1.6.1, dod

Eagle Point upgrade causes problems
Samba Users:
One of my clients is using Samba 2.0.3 on Linux 5.0 with approximately 25
clients. This particular client is an architectural and civil engineering
group using AutoCAD R12 for all their drawings. One of the add-on programs
the civil engineering techs use is Eagle Point of which they just received
an "upgrade".
Prior to the upgrade load times were acceptable at about one

I am attempting to have a Samba3-0.10 server join an NT domain with no

AutoCAD R14 and Eagle Point
Samba List:
Is anyone out there using AutoCAD R14 and Eagle Point? One of my clients
received the latest version of Eagle Point, and the time to load files has
become horrible. It has increased from 1 min to 15 min!
All files are on the Linux server and the stations we did the initial tests
with are PIII w/128MB RAM. The AutoCAD file loads quick, but once the
Eagle Point files begin to load

E&M Wink start problem
Attempting to talk to an Eagle Telephonics switch at a disaster
exercise. Didn't think a plain old E&M wink start T1 would be this
much of an issue.
We finally got the Eagle to accept a call from *, but whilst I can
hear the person on the Eagle, they can't hear me. When they initiate
a dial out I only get the first 2 digits from their switch...
Does anyone have decent

Samba-AD-DC package question . . .
I have an existing Samba-AD-DC built from Inverse packages,
v.4.1.18+dfsg-3~inverse1
I have OpenChangeServer installed on that machine, v.2.4-zentyal6
When I start OpenChange, it "shuts down" my Samba-AD-DC so that no one
can login.
To troubleshoot my problem, I've built a "new" Samba-AD-DC from the same
Inverse packages, but I see a slight difference in the installed
