Digium FXS modules too fragile?
Hi all, Yesterday, in an attempt to take back my phone room, I pulled everything apart as far back as the demarc and rebuilt it. In the process of putting things back together I accidentally connected my incoming lines to my FXS ports and my phones to my FXO ports. I quickly realized the mistake I made and corrected things but not before one of my FXS modules was smoked by incoming ring voltage.

A linker has been the largest gap for FreeBSD to move to a completely BSD

UNIX -> WinNT Username/Password Synchronization Revisited!
Hello all! Brief Scenario: We use a home grown "Accounts Registration Server" (ARS) to create, track, modify and delete required accounts (via a secure TCP connection) on various host computers (currently only OpenVMS and Digital UNIX servers). We currently use a DUNIX box as the primary student POP3 mailserver (which also runs SAMBA). Account registrations (approx 30,000) are

UK (english) sound files
Hi all, After many complaints (including car manufacturers saying the american prompts are unexceptable, EEEK) I started on a quest for real "English" asterisk prompts. The only one I have found is here >> http://www.g7ltt.com/VoIP/vmfiles.html <http://www.g7ltt.com/VoIP/vmfiles.html> And no nothing else on the WIKI looked helpful (e.g. only American voice actors etc)

Software RAID & Ext3 v0.0.6b
I've just set up a brand new system with software raid1 (in degraded mode) with one IDE 20GB drive, using kernel 2.2.19pre16 with ext3 0.0.6b. It's split like this.. 32MB /dev/hda1 /boot 2GB /dev/hda2 / ~18GB /dev/hda3 /home all partitions are marked as 0xfd (autostart raid) with the patches from http://people.redhat.com/mingo/raid-patches for 2.2.17. And I've made all the ext3

[LLVMdev] Proposal: MCLinker - an LLVM integrated linker
Hi all, We are developing a linker, MCLinker. MCLinker is a linker for LLVM. It leverages the LLVM machine code (MC) layer to link object files and bitcodes, and generate shared objects and executable files. Motivation ---------- The development of MCLinker was started out of the need for an LLVM integrated linker. LLVM lacks an integrated linker; hence, it relies on external linkers to

[LLVMdev] Proposal: MCLinker - an LLVM integrated linker
Hi, Brooks, Since this project is helped by many BSD guys in Taiwan, one of MCLinker's main objectives is make direct contribution to the BSD realm. Please feel free to give us suggestions to make sure we can achieve this goal. Any comments are appreciated. We realized open discussion on the mailing list is necessary, and we hope this thread can be a beginning to openly discuss the project

minimum system hardware for Asterisk install
Looking at installing Asterisk and have not been able to find any info on "minimum" or "recommend" system hardware. I have a box P200MMX 128mb 4.5gb HDD which is running Redhat 8.0 fine. Noticing on the Digium web site it mentions that the single fxo card (Wildcard X100P) requires a minimum pIII 500. Is my intended box going to be too slow? My application is a small level,

accessing speed dial database
I'm currently running asterisk@home v 2.7. However I believe asterisk has inbuilt a system wide speed dial system. Preserved number range starting at 300. Just wondering if it's possible to view/backup/restore/modify this data without having to enter it in manually. e.g. 300 301 12345678 (to save phone number 12345678 in speed dial 301?) I'm looking at creating a new installation

Problems with "samba share" after return from standby/sleep with Ubuntu 8.10
I have a D-Link DNS-323 NAS Drive which I'm accessing from a desktop PC running Ubuntu 8.10. When I first mount the DNS-323 share, everything is hunky-dory. I can access folders and files and save them. However, when my desktop PC has returned from standby I have problems saving files, which manifests itself in a number of ways: (1) If I "drag and drop" copy a file from another
